EMU Injector Adaptor 2 Info?

Now that the EMU Forums no longer exist:(

Would anyone happen to have the resistance values of this just lying about:)

Reason i ask is down to just discovering that I'm running low impedance injectors, when i thought they where high.

Now i would have expected to have maybe fried them or the EMU or the ECUs injector drivers by now, over a year, so i am wondering if the adaptor is performing that function and keeping the resistance high enough to run them OK?

So would there be any benefit from adding to the total resistance?

I think the injector adaptor is wired in series??

so thats 9.9 ohms in total.

not sure, as far as I am aware as long there is something over 6 ohms the stock ECU is happy, but at a guess if it starts getting too big the ECU wont be able to drive the injectors - I dont know really enough about that part ;)

I knew I'd done this somewhere:

http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showpost.php?p=644771&postcount=25

510ohms per resistor. So probably not affecting the impedance on the injector circuit, with a value that high!

I've still no idea what it does, especially as the wires are tapped rather than cut - that level of electronics is beyond me. But it makey EMU worky which is good enough for me.

(crikey was that really back in the end of 2005?!)

Thanks Ian, wish i knew more about electronics,

510 ohms that seems high, or is that 5.10 ohms? but i guess it depends if its wired in series or parallel, will have to check that, but i suspect the latter as 510 ohms if in series would make the amperage very high/low??

I wonder how it effects things then, as if its a UK Supra the injector circuit has 6 ohm resistor pack (which i think is wired in series?) and 1.95 ohm injectors,

if its J spec then no resistor pack but 14.3 ohm injectors,

So does it seem likely that the loading the ECU likes to see IE over 6 ohms as heckler said, applies to both ECUs?

i have been looking in the manual, but cant find any reference to it.

It's deffo 510 ohms, as my multimeter doesn't measure down to decimal places and I'd have written 5.1 not 5.10 anyway  :D

But they aren't in series, thats for sure, and so don't affect the impedance levels on the injector circuit at all. You tap into the injector wires and branch off them to this black box - you'd have to cut the wires a la EMU and RLTC installs in order to affect the resistance the injector circuit sees.

Maybe it puts a constant light load on the lines and makes the stock ECU happy about that
