I have three separate friends that have now been screened as a result of the headlines over the passed few months and I'm sure there are loads more around the country.

 

The fact is, smears are horrible. They hurt and they're embarrassing and unpleasant. However just ignoring that letter you get every 3 years used to be ok - ignorance is bliss etc. But now the cancer has a real face. No-one wants to die young.

 

So for that 5 mins of pain and embarrassment a lot of silly women are now realising it's worth it.

 

And that means, despite what she was and how she behaved, Jade has raised awareness.

 

I may make jokes about it but I also share the same view as what Charlotte has just posted.

 

Yeah she may have been a bint (in my opinion) but anyone who says that her media coverage (no matter if it was for the money) did not help raise awareness for cervical cancer is just a thick stupid as Jade Goody*.

 

* She was possibly a very brainy women, benefit of doubt and all that.
