Anyone on here got one? They reliable or prone to little faults? Looking at an upgrade soon from my N95, would love an iphone but i'm not going anywhere near O2 for one. Been tempted to try a crack on one (think Colsoop did this to get his on Vodaphone), quite like the look of the HD though. Also like the Blackberry Storm but i'd prefer to stay with Orange and think that's a Vodaphone only one too isn't it? Just after some reliable opinions on the phone :) I know konio-nt liked his

Little bit off topic but i switched from vodafone to orange and i absolutely HATE it. I can't wait to get back onto voda..... only 16 months to go :(

I find vodafone's pricing better as well as their coverage. The internet on orange is also glitchy as hell. Even when in 3.5g area's the connection is slower than vodafone was in 3g area's.

Hmm i've been with Orange for 6 years now, just always had good service even though they're not the cheapest. Might have more of a look into Vodaphone again - will sound daft but I used to be with them...until they sponsored Man United which is when i cancelled :D

I had the original HTC Touch Diamond, and between the wife and myself we soon realized we didn't like the phone. The interface isn't slick enough for daily use, just quirky with slight delays and an inaccurate touchscreen. I've got a 2 week old phone that none of us.

I love my HD, it's pretty much the perfect phone for me, big button for my chubby fingers and the power (I know some see it as a weakness) of WM6.1 in the background.

Lots of apps to make the phone perfect for me.

Also a whole world of custom ROMs to try out, currently happy using Dutty's 2.3 xtream from http://www.duttythroy.net/.

I did have WM6.5 on for a while and did quite like it, but missed the Touch Flo interface.

I've got in on O2 with unlimited Web bolt on.

Very very happy with it at the mo.

Both :)

I find the Touch clumsy, slow and buggy. That would be Windows Mobile for you. It hasn't changed much in all the years its been out. Having said that, I know people that love WM, but it does need alot of fart arseing about.

Everything the HD does the N95 does apart from a touch screen.

I've used HTC phones for years and generally I wouldn't be without one now. My TyTn had a load of hardware faults which I had to get Vodafone to keep fixing which was a bit of a pain, but my current Touch Diamond is probably the best phone I've ever had. I know they aren’t as slick as their Nokia et al counterparts, but I primarily use them as a PDA / SatNav, which just happens to have a phone attached. I think that WM smartphones are a bit of a culture shock for people more used to everyday phones, as they need to be treated like tiny PCs rather than just phones.

Ive never really use Windown phones to be honest. I don't need email on the phone etc, mainly good camera, i talk and text a lot, but i like gizmos :D Love the look of the Iphone and it's a cool boy toy which I like, i'm also liking the Blackberry Storm for the same reason but think that'd mean going to Vodaphone.

Agree, the camera's is ok, but too fiddly. It's auto focus, but that means it takes 3 or so seconds to take the photo. Most of the time the subject is long gone by then.

If you just want a phone, then the nokia is prob best, but if you like to fiddle, the the WM powered device might be better.

I wouldn't be without mine now. I was like Digsy I use it as a PDA with a phone attached. The HTC interface hides the WM side of things quite well when used as a phone too.

Out of the box it can be regarded as slow, but as per my previous post there is a world of different ROM's to try, which really does enhance the usability of the phone.

I almost got the HTC Touch HD, but went for the Google G1 instead purely because the Touch is running Windows Mobile, which i've heard can be slow and buggy. The G1 runs the Android system which seems very good! The G1 doesn't look as good as the Touch though.

I do have HTC Touch HD and haven't found any bugs yet. It works fine, touch screen is responsive, Tomtom 7 works without fault (with internal GPS) , TouchFlo interface is handy. Only one thing is missing - there is no camera flash and pics sometimes are blurry if you move your hand in wrong moment. Other than that - I like this phone :) Battery live is incredible too! :)
