merckx
Every single on-track session can be watched on the red button or online. On race day, viewers will be able to choose from three different video streams. F1 fans will be able to customise their viewing experience through the BBC's multi-platform offering with options such as: split-screen action; a live leaderboard; in-car cameras; choice of commentary; live online streaming; live text; interactive forums; circuit guides; and blogs. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/motorsport/7755219.stm
RedM
Excellent. May prove more entertaining than the racing.
AndrewOW
So it is turning into a Scalectrix style video game, then! It won't be long before viewers can pay to remotely drive the cars too; much like the 'crew' does now
Sean1933
Sounds brilliant to me, its whats been needed for a long time. I used to hate watching people at the front when i wanted to see how Hamilton was getting on moving back up the field after somesort of crazy tactic/spin/penalty . RiceRocket
Sounds good, now that's what I like to pay my tv licence for.
Whitesupraboy2
So it is turning into a Scalectrix style video game, then! It won't be long before viewers can pay to remotely drive the cars too; much like the 'crew' does now thats already in development and I kid you not. A game is being developed where you race with the real guys when the race is on. God knows how they will work out collisions and if you are in their spot at the time etc... There was a news story on it a while back.

Lbm
Whilst the red button technology will no doubt appeal to many, I don't think I can be bothered to start pushing buttons during the race itself. I'll allow the producers and commentators to guide me through the afternoon
Axle
Shame though about the rule changes... If you're referring to the points system, they are scrapping it for this season. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=180004&page=

RiceRocket
sky+ that then! Avoid this place then as there will no doubt be spoilers
merckx
What if you want to record any of the action other than qualifying and the race, will you have to press the red button youself? Slightly inconvient especially in Australia when the Friday practice will start in the early hours of the morning.
johnny g
I'll be up... won't be missing this! Good chance for Jenson to get off to a strong start!
AndrewOW
I must admit, I will definitely watch it now its back on the BBC. I couldn't stand the ad breaks on ITV, as I used to flip channels, and not get back to it again until the next ad break!
RedM
Avoid this place then as there will no doubt be spoilers No doubt although they do have to be narrower and taller than last year.
caseys
Shame it's not going to be in HD this year though. First thing I thought when Bernie announced the BBC deal was that he may have sold all his HD broadcast kit to BBC. Alas not. I cannot believe it's not in HD and I would've thought it'd have been a caveat for the deal.

You can even watch the world touring cars and WRC in HD on Eurosport HD. F1 has always been way behind when it comes to media. It only just went widescreen a little while ago! Thorin
thats already in development and I kid you not. A game is being developed where you race with the real guys when the race is on. God knows how they will work out collisions and if you are in their spot at the time etc... There was a news story on it a while back. I remember hearing about something like that YEARS ago! Shame it's not going to be in HD this year though. Too right! Not that I have a HD TV yet, but I'm planning on buying one with my redundancy payout
