TRACIE_LOU
My son is 12... (going on 18) and plays on the ps3 as much as he can but when he gets killed or some such thing goes wrong he blows up like a bomb!! .. What i'd like to know seeing as alot of you play on ps3 xbox etc do you guys behave this way lol? will he stop and play calmly anytime soon? We have endless fights with me telling him to chill and calm down or switch the damn thing off...and him well what can i say.. So come on is this typical game aggression? do you all have these hissy fits too?:d or is it a child thing?

hadyn
I used to get right pumped up playing video games as a pre-pubescent in the 16 bit era....
Max Headroom
Your son has some issues there. By his angry outbursts he is showing signs of TTT and SMLF because he wants to be in control. (TTT Teenage Temper Tantrum and SMLF Stamping My Little Feet). Take the box off him and tell him unless he calms down he isnt going to get it back. If he is acting like a spoilt child treat him like one
Matt H
I used to get annoyed when i was really young, like 8 years old perhaps, but i don't think i carried that through until 12. It's normal for kids though and should grow out of it!!
Supradoopa
I've noticed that if I play a game for too long the slightest thing that goes wrong will end in tears, usually when i'm online and everyone cheats or things just aren't going my way. Tell him to go get some fresh air, kick a ball at a wall aimlessly for hours on end like i'm sure some members did on here in their younger days

RedM
Buy him some porno mags. Once he clears out that dirty water he'll be a lot calmer when playing games.
Havard
I'm 34 and playing COD4 gets me quite upset if things aren't going my way. I'm just glkad that there isn't a swear box in the games room...... H.

It is typical teenager behaviour, is he like this at any other times, ie not playing computer games?
TTRickeh
I tend to go pretty mental when I die in an online game when I feel it's not justified. I smashed one of my 360 controllers to bits once after playing an endurance race in Forza 2 for 45 minutes then stuffing it into the wall with 1 lap to go, so now I only have 3 I just try to take a deep breath now. I don't think your sons weird, or at least if he is then that makes two of us

JustGav
Yeah... get him outside in the sunshine My kids aren't allowed on the consoles if it is warm and sunny outside. Temper tantrums and getting stressed at the TV simply result in it being turned off and a week cooling off period... They soon realized. Tannhauser
Buy him some porno mags. Once he clears out that dirty water he'll be a lot calmer when playing games. Sage advice there. Dirty water reflux is probably causing excess pressure between the pia mater and dura mater, compressingthe cortex and leading to rageful excesses. 4-5 bongo mags ought to do the trick. JustGav
Yes unfortuantly very often, Find his trigger point, the thing that means the most at this point in time and simple remove it, return it when behaviour has reached an acceptable level and don't be flexible. Al Massey
Im 26 and when im on cod4 i go ballistic, every swear word under the sun comes out of my mouth. And it worse when i have the earpiece and mic on. Its a good way to vent anger. Its better to vent it at a computer/tv than it is to vent it elsewhere or on someone else. trust me ive seen the damage that can be done if anger isnt vented
jazz1
i admit im addicted to my ps3 ever since my dad bought it for me and im 24. The mad thing about it i take my gaming serious although im really good i always get idiots sending me swear words etc and banning me from servers but what really pisses me of when they swear at me over the mic. When these little 9-16 year olds swear so much they need a good beating some of the things that come out of there mouths especially stupid yank kids is unbelievable.
