Dash Rendar
I've been advised I need a replacement propshaft. (The splines are worn on mine and result in some nasty clonking when put my foot on the clutch.) I guess one from a breaker would be ideal, but I've no idea what one of these usually fetches! Can anyone help? *** NEVERMIND. Bought a new one. ***
dannysupratt
Are you sure its the actual propshaft and not just the bearing? which can be replaced seperatly.
Dash Rendar
I think it's the whole thing. I'm just waiting for James from ToyotaGT to confirm for me. (They diagnosed the issue.)
mwilkinson
A complete unit from Mr T new, including the centre bearing is £495. Worth thinking about, peace of mind from a new unit with warranty!!
Dash Rendar
Cool, thanks. I may hold out for one from a breaker or something though first... 495 is a lot of pennies.

keron
so do you need the complete prop or just the first section? if you can tell me the lenght of it, i might have it. (the first peice) from the gearbox (4 nuts hold it on) and the other end slots into the rest of the prop...
Dash Rendar
Thanks Keron. I've asked James if this is what I need. Hopefully will get back to you soon.
Dash Rendar
So James says, and I quote: "its the splined section that connects the two section of shaft that have too much play and therfor both should ends should be replaced."

Dash Rendar
Darn, turns out the one I bought was for a UK. So, I'm still in need of a complete propshaft for my J-Spec.
Dash Rendar
Still after a propshaft / driveshaft. Anyone?
Dash Rendar
Well, they didn't seem to be turning up and the clonking's getting worse, so I had no option to buy one new. I could have bought a whole car for that money... (Not a very good car though!)
