Scooter
that is true as some are bots. I'm thinking (paranoidly! ) even more sinister than that...............ie company linked players/usernames that get lucky breaks a few times more than average............i'm sure a software tweak could be made to tip the odds in their favour, I wonder if a poker companies software is tested/inspected and then their servers are locked down for a time? basically if your best mate ran a company like this how easy would it be to have a back ground routine in the programme to favour your login? You make a few grand a year (by playing very good poker ), he's not bothered because the company is getting their slice through the usual %'s they take. I know diddly about software and its code and whether a thorough inspection of this could easily uncover such a 'tweak' and expose a fraud, but it makes you think, especially if the company software/servers are only inspected periodically and not subjected to constant monitoring. mathew
Oh but it does. You lose, you credit your account with more dollar. when i lose (big, bad beat etc) i have a break for a few days. this was one of the first bits of advice i was given when starting out in poker and i know many others do the same. poker is a game of variance. no one makes a fuss if you hit a straight on the flop but if you catch runner runner for a straight then ou are accused of all sorts of luck. hands are gona happen its as simple as that. people will hit lucky on the river, people will flop quads, hell some people even hit a royal flush. the game is full of odds and with so many hands being played online beats are gona happen. a few weeks back Pokerstars played their 25th billionth hand. imsure somewhere in those 25billion hands was more than a fewbad beats. Snooze
Poker, especially Texas Hold 'Em, is a highly luck-oriented game. Stick with it while you still enjoy playing, Jake - it goes around and it comes around. When you find that you hate the losing more than you enjoy the winning, then it's time to give up!
