Chris Wilson
OK, idiotic question, maybe, but how would you read this price? "the sale prix 50.000 euro" It's an engine, and it can't possibly be fifty thousand Euros, unless it has cocaine in it? I have seen a couple of other things advertised in Euros with a period in the figures, that read bizarrely, value wise. Am I missing something or is the vendor simply dreaming? Thanks. colsoop
50,000 Euros would be my guess but judging by the rest of the sentence it could be anything.
Ace
It's 50000 Euros. Europeans do this a lot - either stick a comma or a full stop in. We are possibly the only ones who don't bother doing so.
Ark
They use a period mark (.) instead of a comma as a thousands separator on the continent, so 50 grand.

Well, you are. Most British people do put a comma in 4+ digit numbers.

Chris Wilson
He must be smoking something then, that's near the going rate for a decent LMP2 engine, not a 90's Honda Mugen F3000 lump. Thanks.
peter richards
point one to the right 500.00, is that more like it chris

Chris Wilson
I had to ask, it's such a ridiculous asking price. you can buy a freshly rebuilt, fresh off the dyno Cosworth DFR with the management system for that. Optimistic is a gross understatement
Ark
point one to the right 500.00, is that more like it chris Yeah, it could just be a typo.
Chris Wilson
No, that'd be ridiculously cheap, he's just having a punt to see if someone's desperate or under the influence of narcotics I'm afraid.
Carl_S
The word "Sale" means dirty in french. And "Prix" means price. So the "sale prix" could mean the dirty price. Ask him what the clean price is.
