Scott
Damn, only way is to remove the assembly then?
mikeyb10supra
I would have thought so, although whats the reasoning behind it? you would soon know if you had a problem without looking
Scott
I would have thought so, although whats the reasoning behind it? you would soon know if you had a problem without looking Asked loads of questions in the one thread but got very little response so i thought a direct question would work better lol. Basically i get no boost from the 2nd turbo. If i do the 5 min TTC mod i get no boost from either turbo, if i do the permanant TTC mod i get no boost from either turbo. This lead me to believe tubby 2 was fooked and that the boost generated from turbo 1 was being let out via the 2nd turbo's cold side rather than being put into the engine. Everything i have tried points to a fooked 2nd turbo so i was wondering if there was an easy way of physically checking without removing the assembly. Cheers
Chris Wilson
You can see either of the compressor blades without actually removing the turbos, but neither of the turbine blades.

Chris Wilson
I have a decent medical endoscsope, it's been a Godsend
Animal
Do you have a big-endoscope for looking at cranks?
Chris Wilson
What are you hoping to see from the drain plug? I doubt you'll learn much with an endoscope up there unless it's in two pieces or something.
Animal
I was hoping to see at least a groan for a terrible play on words. Perhaps I should have said big-end oscope.

Scott
And you have throughly checked every pipe for tiny splits/tears and all vsv's etc? i took the vac pipes and vsv pipes out of the equation by hard wiring the turbo's into ttc. Even without any vsv's the turbo's should still fire up. I replaced all the vac hoses, turbo pipes and refitted the intercooler. I have to assume now its the 2nd turbo.
