Tubby 2 Cooked?

Scott

Recommended Posts

Ok, just went out to check if my 2nd tubby is toast and it looks like it is. I held open the EGCV and the EBV and went for a run. I got zero boost, in fact it was dipping into negative a little touch. When i got back i checked that they were still open and they were.

The way i did this was to remove the pipe that feeds the EGCV, blow a little pressure into it to open it and then plug it up. I did the same with the EBV.

I found it strange that i got no power from tubby 1 though. It works fine when plumbed in correctly. Could this be because i have left the original system exposed? Ie the VSV connection that would normally plumb into the actuator is connected to nothing.

Any ideas? Just looking for a definitive answer so that i can put this one to bed lol.

Thanks for your help Tom

Unfortunately i'm thinking its definitely the tubby thats fooked. I ran it using the 5 min ttc mod with everything else in place and i got nothing from either turbo. This would lead me to believe that the turbine in tubby 2 is fooked allowing all the pressure from tubby 1 to run straight past tubby 2's cold side :(

I'm wondering, can you see the hot side of tubby 2 if you take the 1st cat/decat off? I'm putting my car in to get the exhaust changed over, might be worth my while getting them to take the decat off when its up on ramps.... if i can see that is.
