Jake
Spyware is such a pain in the ass nowadays, innit? To get folk's PCs working again I use: Spybot Search and Destroy for spyware. HiJackThis to get IE back to how it should be. Then do a Trend Housecall on-line virus scan to double check Install Avast anti-virus (The free home edition is fine) Stop using IE and use FF whenever possible. penguin
too right mate i hate using the net cause of it...... still remember the good old days... and heck they used to actually pay to show crap on your screen , although i dont think the idea actually took off lol ...... i use hijackthis to get rid of the browser hijacks, and heck, i even delete dll files (those which seem out of place in the system folder) one of the very persistant ones is "sp.dll" ive deleted the mofo like a trillion times, but it actually runs as a windows process "run32dll.exe" hence its unbloodydetectable by microshit spyware...... other one which is doing my nuts in is "11299.exe" or something along those lines, it replicates itself in almost every folder, and leaves a nice icon on your desktop and start bar titled "sex" difficult to get rid of as it comes back almost instantly....... Shovels
Best off downloading HiJackThis.exe, restart the system in safe mode, run Microsoft Anti-Spyware then HiJackThis. If your not sure what to remove post a list of the results and I'll try and advise on the ones to get shot of. You have to be fairly carefull with HiJackThis - It's fairly ruthless, but it does the job.
