Garage construction costs

Been trying to find out some costs but can't find anywhere that will give even a rough quote. Basically was thinking of getting a brick lean-to garage built, about 9' x 20', but was hoping someone might be able to give an approximate cost before I go ringing around and find out it's far too expensive. Any help much appreciated, thanks guys.

I had a garage/summerhouse built if that's any help?

Used breeze-block type bricks and then rendered the outside. Got a 8ft garage roller door from ebay £150, and the windows/doors i got from wickes using a 20% voucher code thats readily available on the net. Once it was all buil, i had it all plasterboarded in side, skirting board added, and a couple of coats of paint.

Total cost was about £5-6k. Size was 19ft x 22ft.

Here's some pics when it was being built: http://tripkings.co.uk/garage/ - haven't got any finished ones.. :-(

Before i had it built though i had quotes of 24k, 13k and 9k.

Not sure if that helps you much?

Is it joining a house? (is there 3 sides to be built or 4 sides?) if attatched you will need proper footing and they cost, if its detached then you can build it from a raft and it will be cheaper.

Is it block built and rendered/dashed or brick built, if brick what type of bricks?

What type of garage door do you want? barn doors are cheap and roller electric are expensive.

Is it a pitched tiled roof? hipped or gable end or are you thinking of a felt flat roof?

Any windows or doors in it? feel free to give me a call for any advise mate.:)

I'm sure JamieP would hate this idea, but when we had a wooden garage burn down we replaced it with a Compton bricktastic one.

http://www.comptonbuildings.co.uk/Concrete+Garages/Premier+Brick+Garages+Range/Garages.chtml?intProductID=26

It was cheaper than wood !, lots cheaper than brick and put up in a morning !

From the road it looks brick and the warranty is 100% (they replaced the whole roof after about three years as it cracked.

Think they do lean too's as well.

Cheers

about 9' x 20',

Do you aim to work on the car inside the garage?

2750mm wide, minus the wall thickness will give you essentially the same width as a supermarket car park bay, you'll not be able to open the doors much.

Any scope to make it wider or is it up to the boundary?
