Oxygen starvation and babies

Recommended Posts

Adam was born during quite a long labour with the cord wrapped round his neck - during pushing, his heart rate was dropping quite low. When he came out, they had to resuscitate him as he went a few seconds without oxygen.

He is now 2.5yrs old, happy, energetic and one of the brightest kids in his nursery group.

Hope that helps!

Sounds like yours is early. Babies are a lot more resilient than we assume. We had a niece over the weekend. Her heart stopped during labour, had to be ventused out. Lots of huffing and puffing and pulling and a day in the baby care unit but alright. The docs take every precaution just to be certain so I trust all will be well for you as well.

My brother was born a "blue baby." Now he's 41 and has never had a girlfriend, I think we can all draw our own conclusions from that.

Snap...and my name's Rob. No really.

Anyway Chiefgroover, best wishes to you :)

one of my best mates suffered this. hes now 26 and his nickname is craig dribbles (or dribs for short), he's as thick as two short planks, not got much going for him in the looks department and ginger. but he is an awesome mate and i wouldnt swap him for the world.
