Dilema!!

yes i turned boost control off!!!!

After set the ebc limiter to 1.0 bar, and still getting 1.2 bar!

i thing is not difficult to understand this part!

with the 1st cat in it should be around stock boost, right?

For *bleeps* sake :D

The boost controller cannot reduce boost, it can only increase it. This is why you need to turn it off to find out what your car is doing without it - thats the base level boost.

The fact you have a 1st cat fitted is irrelevant. It'll reach whatever boost it feels like one the other restrictions in the exhuast are gone (2nd decat and/or cat back system replaced) and 1.2 bar is about right for what you have.

Just let me check this with you - do you realise there are TWO cats on a supra? The first one is the bad one that MUST go when increasing boost, the 2nd one can stay but is not recommended.

As soon as you move any one of those, it needs a restrictor ring setup, but the 1st one must always go.

i understand ebc can only raise boost!

so the 1st cat doesn't restrict boost, if i fit my RR (56mm) back the boost will go to 1.3/4 like it was before!

i just want to know if that is caused because the RR is too big, or there is any mechanical problem, nothing to do with RR, EBC, 1st cat etc etc..

The first cat does restrict boost. Without it you'd get 1.7 bar and melted pistons.

Take the steps I mentioned in post #25 and work from there. If it is reaching more than 1.0 bar after the BC is off, the 1st cat is replaced with a decat, the 2nd cat fitted (if you really need it, but I don't see why) and the restrictor ring fitted, then it needs a smaller restrictor ring. It really is that simple. The restrictor ring controls the minimum boost level, but the 1st cat has to be gone and ideally the 2nd one too.

Seriously. Whats wrong with you? Listen to what the most patient man on the planet is saying to you.

Ditch the cats, get a 1 bar rr and go from there.

Thats a lovely car you have there but if your gong to dick around like this with it and not listen to the sound advice on here from people that have been doing it since before man walked the earth then:

It doesn't matter what that add says, see my previous post.

Are you native British fella? I'm starting to think we have a serious communication issue here. If you're not native then it might explain some of the issues with understanding whats been posted so far. I'll try and explain in more basic English if thats the case. No offence meant if you're are British born and bred! :D

The turbo system at WOT is actually pretty simple. There is almost nothing that can cause overboost on a jspec apart from lack of restriction or a bad BC setup.

But please, take the steps I mentioned and I assure you that you will solve the issue. We've been through this over a hundred times on the forum, seriously.

The car was running with a 2nd decat at one point (1st cat still in place) and it was running stock boost. Seems odd that you should be seeing such high boost with a cat in. Is the cat ok? The restrictor ring was first made to something like 50mm and i still saw stock boost levels with a double decat and catback. At the size that it is now it was running about 1 to 1.1 bar in hot weather and 1.2 bar in the cold whilst in the higher gears.
