HKS frontpipe

CW Downpipe

Apexi fuel comp

Apexi boostcontroller

HKS S-type IC

Walbro pump

Fuel pressure regulator

The turbo's are exactly the same size but the housings are different due to one being at the back of the engine and the other at the front. i.e. compressor output is on the right of the front turbo and the left of the rear turbo as you look from the drivers side wing.

I guess in theory you can take the compressor and turbine wheels out of one and fit them in the housings of another, but i think you would want to check if there's any pitfalls with somebody who has a lot of experience with the CT12's first.

I had forgotten about the wastegate as well, that is in turbo1 so you cant just pop turbo2 on there (as well as the other facts that everybody else mentions).

If you are stripping down to swap internals you may as well just go for a proper rebuild. Leon can get them rebuilt to stock but with steel internals if you want, it would be cheaper but at this point I think the investment in hybrids would be worth it.

DO expect some additional lag low down with hybrids though, I couldnt understand why I was unable to launch Lee Burleys car properly at 10 of the Best until I realised he had hybrids which obviously took that little bit extra to spool. But what you lose low down you gain in the mid to top.

My turbos recently gave in on me, heavy smoking and drinking oil (the car not me :) ). I half considered getting rid but then decided to keep the car and spend some cash on it for once. The turbos are currently at Turbo Technics (going for hybrids) and I expect to get them back for the end of the week, they seem to know what they're on about down there and give a 24 month warrenty on their work. As Branners quite rightly pointed out going to hybrids will by their very nature increase lag however I will also be having a full de-cat ( CW down pipe & HKS Super Dragger ) which should reduce lag again.

I can vouch for Turb tech hybirds.. i've got mine fitted (CT12A) and yes they're on a slightly different engine, but id say they're well worth it.

Lag is considerable up until 3000 then it just flies, and they're still running as stock. Speak to Giles ... he really seems to know his stuff.
