wheels look great Wez, i would leave them as long as you can to let the paint harden before fitting the tyres, even with UV hardened paint it wont do any harm

Is that the same for powder coating?

They wont be going on just yet as I still need to sort out spigot rings and suitable black wheel nuts, oh and tires :D

Replacement Cam Covers and Breather Setup

As I had some free time yesterday I swapped over the cam covers, not a bad job really. I replaced all the nuts and bolts at the same time but you could prob get away with just washers.

Thanks to Tonys Valve Stem Replacement guide I ordered the following :-

Cam cover washer 90210-07001 x 16

Cam cover bolts 90105-06166 x 12

Cam cover nut 90179-06288 x 4

Cam cover gasket (Inlet) 11213-46020 x 1

Cam cover gasket (Exhaust) 11214-46011 x 1

I also replaced the small breather hoses :-

Cam breather hose 12263-46010 x 1

Cam breather hose 12264-46010 x 1

Once the new cam covers were on I moved onto the worst bit, assembling the -12 breather line, from now on I will order the lines pre-made and avoid the frustration.

sweeeet, out of interest Wez which exhaust manifold is that you have on, just trying to get an idea of clearances

Its an Induction Motorsport kit which is based on the Turbonetics log manifold.

It's coming along really nicely Wes. I really like the water elbow

Thanks.

I am going to swap that over when I have all the other bits needed to delete a load of unwanted water ways, should really clear the bay up.

Very nice Wez  It's about time some attention to detail went into it :D No offence meant, you know where I'm coming from ;)

None taken, I know what you mean ;)

The cam breathers normally have clamps on them, are they missing for a reason?

Are you sure?

The internal ones don't, maybe Homer was referring to the hose which has the small airfilter on the end.

Sorry Wez, the chaps are correct, those inner ones don't have clips.

I ate a cornetto earlier, must not be used to the sugar :D

Bit more work on the dash

Managed to get a bit more work done on the dash. I now have a cig lighter socket so I can still use sat nav etc and also added a second eight way calibration switch for the Solaris traction control, just need to get a little knob to match the other switch.

I also completed the basic wiring to supply the switches with grounds and positives, I then connected up a battery so I could test each switch was working as it should.
