Used to be a HSE part 1 Commercial Diver, not been diving in a few years now :( also did my BSAC quals when I was late teens (which led into the commercial as i loved it) keep thinking of getting back into it as I miss "the oggin". Have dived all around the UK wether sport diving or commercial. The one place I don't recommend is the thames ! (pitch black and you have to dodge blind mullet ;) )

I've done my PADI Open Water and my Advanced, unfortunately I've not been diving for a couple of years though :( The last time was in Egypt which was OK, got to see 4 Hammerheads on a wreck dive which was something special, but not a patch on the Maldives, which is where I would be off to this year if I had the money free.

BSAC Dive Leader and TDI Advanced Nitrox. Was chairman of my local club for a couple of years. The wife ended up in a chamber a couple of years back after diving the SS Persier and we decided to give it a rest for a few years. Predomiantly UK diver.

Persier is only in about 20-25 metres of water isn't she??

how did she end up in a chamber??

Not too sure mate with regards to depth. Got a solid 28m on my vytec?

Basically she was doing a mid water deployment of a DSMB. During the process she knocked her DV out of her mouth. She was not fussed and went to put it back in. Unfortuantely her buddy thought she needed assistance and jammed the thing in her mouth while purging it. In the process she took a lung full of water and lost control of her bouyancy through coughing and probably a bit of panic. She came up from 20+ meters, missing all her deco. I stuck her on O2 on surfacing and called the coast guard.

She displayed no signs of decompression illness, but we stuck her in the pot for good measure.

Scary stuff to be honest!! Makes you appreciate how vlnerable you can be when diving.
