Boost = good, RPM = bad , Speed = Worse

Hi all,

Today i fitted my Blitz IColor boost controller. Fitting was ok as i followed some guides off here for other controllers and the Blitz manuals.

Anyway my Supra is STOCK (both cats still in) and is getting between 0.7-0.83 bar on full boost (which is correct from reading around). The boost is reporting fine from the boost controller.

However!, the RPM is reading always well below what the actual RPM is on the dash. I have linked this to PIN 58 (B connector) of the ECU (IGF igniter, as read from posts on here) but its always quite a bit off.

The speed reading is always 0, and i linked this to PIN 2 (A connector), which is whats the blitz manual and the ECU pin outs say, but no joy.

Ive checked all the settings on the boost controller are correct for the RPM signal etc, and i cant see anything wrong. Dash still works fine.

Question, i have tried to raise the boost to 0.9 on the boost controller just as a quick test but i can never get to this reading, which i assume is due to cats still being in?.

Any suggestions?

Simon

Can't help with the RPM issue, but regarding boost.. You should be able to get more than 0.9 bar with the cats in, but it's highly not recommended. They are a huge restriction, particularly the first one, so before you go more than stock boost, that one should be replaced. Do you have an FCD installed already?

Its about 200 off at idle (it says 380 ~ 420) and its seems to be off more at higher rev ranges.

There are 3 settings on the Boost controller for th tacto, 3 cyclinder, 4 cyclinder , 6 cyclinder , and 3000rpm above or something. If i put it on 6 cylinder as it should be the idle reads about 110 the only way i can get it half close is with the 3000rpm one.

Cheers,

Si

Fixed now!!, i had been stupid and miss read the diagram for the connector blocks. It would appear by fluke i had tapped into something related to RPM but not the actual RPM signal.

For forum reference, i can confirm its Pin 58 on block B (RPM) and Pin 2 on block A (Speed).

Also for the blitz icolor i found that to get the speed reading perfect it had to be set on the following ,

4 - Pulse reading and in MPH (Even tho my cars a JSpec i would of thought the ECU read in KPH but infact not)

I installed my FCD today and all is working well, hitting the stock 0.8 bar constantly now, so cant wait to fit decats, plugs and fuel pump thats been gather dust in my garage.

Cheers all,

Si
