Guest sldxr50
After a short drive, pulled up and popped into Tesco, came back to find puddle of coolant underneath front bumper. Popped bonnet and it was dripping quite fast out of the overflow pipe from the expansion bottle. Done a few searches and people reckon RAD CAP but can anyone tell me what to get checked and in what order please. Recent luck with the car has been poor and really dont want to spend another small fortune on her !!! ( last 4 weeks have replaced Waterpump, crank pulley and belt, heater matrix !!!) Guest sldxr50
Cheers for reply mate, when I had the heater matrix done the garage said it took over an hour to fill up coolant system, said it kept gurgling and they had to leave it 5 mins and retop up and repeat process again and again. Will take it back to same place I think and see what they say, sick of spending money on an NA, could have almost had a TT transplant by now , the amount I've spent! Off topic, what about a 2.5 TT transplant ?

Guest sldxr50
cheers guys, surely the rad cap would have been obvious to the garage when they did my heater matrix last week ??? Have to see what they say on Monday

Alex
Change the rad cap...when it fails it allows too much expansion into the overflow hence that fills and overflows itself. £3 fix!
Jamesy W
As mentioned, change the rad cap. Also when was the last time your thermostat was changed?
creative
And for peace of mind, also just run your hand over your rad. make sure it is all hot and got no cold spots. I changed everything on mine before I noticed this on my rad.
dude
cheers guys, surely the rad cap would have been obvious to the garage when they did my heater matrix last week ??? Have to see what they say on Monday If it took an hour to fill they obviously dont have a vacume pump which sucks out the air and pulls in the coolant. Never had a problem when using one of these, just :tongue:remember to leave the heater set on hot.
