chico
So what does your car actually have installed? A picture will tell all. In the non-VVTi the trac is a seperate ECU, that much is for certain. On some model VVTi's, it *might* be integrated (this is an assumption based on your picture). Dont have any pics of it until tomorrow, my mechanic have to take some...

JustGav
The issue is that the car runs for 3sec and dies. i´ve checked the fuelpump, and its running as its should! everything is working fine, like lights, wipers, etc etc... coz of that last connection hanging loose from the wiringloom! Is there an alarm on wiring loom or something like? Does the fuel pump run continuously, I've seen a VVTi that when the 12v mod was removed had issues exactly like that, ran for a few seconds and then stop, almost like the FPC signal to the ECU was wrong. Robert
god knows LOL, but i will see if i can find out. My stock ECU went along time ago. Do you know if the replacement VVTI engine was out of an aristo or a supra? I do know if you use a Supra ECU in a Aristo somethings don't work properly, but the other way around i don't know. JustGav
Yep If the FPC was fully disconnected, and there is no alarm, then I'm out of ideas...sorry. It does sound VERY much like there might a wiring issue somewhere.

No worries, thats why im looking for a pic off any other ecu that could be fitted in a supra. so i have a ecu with 5 small white connections and it says 2jz-gt. (but the big grey is missing). i´ll take some pics tomorrow and upload them!

JustGav
Okay, I've just had a look and I think I've found the cable on the wiring diagram, just need to trace it, I believe it is labelled as connector H. JustGav
If I am reading it correctly, there are 5 active pins on it... Black-Orange Yellow-Red Yellow White Yellow-Black They are all labelled as inputs, the blanks I'm not sure on yet, need to check other diagrams.. This is only right if it is the correct connector (H) They are labelled IND and CIND, not sure what that means yet. Homer
Was it running okay when it left their place? If so what has happened in the mean time? was it driven to your place and if so, what changes have been made since? Any detail isn't too small to worth mentioning here. Homer
i brought it back on a flatbed. bought it as a non running. Thanks for clearing that up. I'll duck out of this now, but keep talking to Gav, he's one of the very few people who've done this swap before so has some real first-hand experience.
