mike_mcevoy
Does anyone know the cost of a standard FPR part number 23280-46030. I'm getting some strange fuelling issues when braking and everything else along the fuel line has been changed. Basically what I'm finding is occasionally when braking to a stop the fuelling goes off the scale lean on the AFR gauge and then stalls. It seems to be an intermittent fault when she is warm, unless anyone has an idea of what might cause this? cheers Mike

Tricky-Ricky
First question, what type/make of AFR gauge? Did you know that on closed throttle the injector are not working, IE no fuel= lean AFRs 20.9.
mike_mcevoy
its a two year old Walbro. Possible its gone faulty but I've never heard of that happening (not to say it doesnt)?
mike_mcevoy
I'm running a AEM AFR gauge, it normally goes off the scale when letting of the accelerator but when coasting upto a stop its fairly steady at 14.9 or 15 unless it tries to stall when it goes off the scale. Sorry wasn't clear on that, thats on initial closed throttle and deceleration, once at idle it will be 14.7 ish:)
mike_mcevoy
it's one of those PITA problems that has no clear issue standing out and becasue its intermittent you cant garranteee any one part causing it. think I'll just strip each component out in turn and check them. Dragonball
I think I have a std FPR somewhere in the garage if you need it

mike_mcevoy
I hope to god this isnt normal mine has only just started to do this in the last month or so. the only other thing that I was thinking was a faultly water temp sender screwing up the readings. I had this on a old Clio were it would constantly read cold so would have the choke on full all the time, but this seems to running in reverse? Tricky-Ricky
I would also be inclined to reset the throttle switch/potentiometer;)

mike_mcevoy
Sorted now, turns out it’s the old age problem of the coil pack connectors. What looks like what was happening was that when I was braking downhill especially, it exacerbated the issue where he first three clips weren’t being held in properly and they were backing off as I broke causing it to drop to at least 3 cylinders and then stalling out. £12ish fix from Paul at Whifbitz
