Swapping over turbo housings

Ok so the exhaust housings are different on tubby 1 & 2 as one has a wastegate? Can they be swapped over? I'm just thinking that i could get the tubby's, split them, use the 2nd one on my car and swap the housing over on tubby 1 (with wrecked tubby 2's housing) to use on a different car.

Would that be the case?

As i said mate they are easy to swap over, but they are not interchangeable, if thats what you mean.

Yeah thats what i meant. I wasn't referring to your turbo's specifically. The reason i ask is that JamesyW has, what we think, a cooked turbo. I was thinking that if i get yours i could split them, i would take turbo 2 and swap my housing over and he could take turbo 1 and swap his turbo 2 housing onto it.

Guess not then.

Thanks

Just to confirm, as i'm starting to think we may be at cross purposes, turbo 1 & 2 use completely different exhaust housings regarding the wastegate design, but both turbo 1 & 2 cores and compressor housings are identical, and can be used in either.

So i can use turbo 1 core and compressor in a 2nd turbo exhaust housing?
