Blowoff valve for a Scooby

My missus would like a blowoff valve for her Scooby. It's all about the noise, I'm afraid! ;)

Anyway, are BOVs universal? Anything I should know about buying one for a Scooby? I looked on Scoobynet, but it didn't seem to good over there... Nobody appears to reply to other people's questions on that board!

If you want to see how it runs you could try venting the stock BOV to atmosphere? That way if it runs like a POS you know to avoid.

Seems that a lot of UK turbo cars run with MAF's which VTA dump valves mess the readings up on.

I didn't know you could vent a stock recirculating BOV to atmosphere. Kind of begs the question as to why people replace them in the first place!

Stock BOV's aren't designed to VTA so they aren't very good at it basically. Its good enough for a try before you buy though.

Also, the pitches aren't "tuned" like the aftermarket ones are so its just really a whoosh of air.

You just need to find out which pipe is the re-circulating one. Disconnect it from the manifold and block off the hole so that no air leaks out.

When instead of the air rushing into the dumpvalve and out back into the manifold it vents to atmosphere instead.
