Matt H
Probably while stocks last. You get 3 light bulbs (screw fix) for free if you pay the £1 postage charge. Don't think there is a limit of how many you can order. I bought 5 sets of 3 Dead easy website to order from too... http://iconiclights.co.uk/Article.aspx?ArticleID=

MrRalphMan
Tesco's were doing a similar deal a month or so back. Each light bulb was £1.89 or you could get 3 for 88p. I didn't tell any one as I wanted them all for myself.
jamesmark
That is exspensive. Morrisons was selling 5 for £1 on Sunday and my local Tesco was doing a silly 10 for 50p 2 weeks ago.
Thorin
The normal price for all of the above would be £3.95 + £4.95 P&P = £8.90 £8.90 for three lightbulbs? Yeah right I got 3 bulbs from Asda the other week and believe they were £1 too.
juanchan
You paid for energy saving light bulbs? I got about 20 free from my energy supplier, and I only live in a 1 bedroom flat
Chris Wilson
Am I the only person in the country that hates the things? Slow to get going, funny light output, blah blah. I stocked up on 150 and 100 watt incandescents
Swampy442
Did you know you cant bin them either when they fail? They have to be disposed of in a certain way due to high mercury content.

I stocked up on 150 and 100 watt incandescents I've got some that aren't too bad, but the ones my girlfriand has are terrible - I swear the room gets darker when you turn them on and they take forever to get to a decent light level. It's become a joke now, I say "Do you want me to turn the dark on?"

I stocked up on 150 and 100 watt incandescents no i dont like them too much. they are ok in the livingroom where they might be on a long time. but in the hallway where most of the time you turn them on, walk through and turn them off they are useless. AndrewOW
And I've noticed that they don't seem to last any longer than the 'normal' bulbs, but cost 10x more! EDIT: Oh, and you can't dim them either, which is crap IMO
jamesmark
And I've noticed that they don't seem to last any longer than the 'normal' bulbs, but cost 10x more! Dunno what make you are buying, my experience is they out last normal bulbs 10 fold and then some more. The wall lights used to go through appx 4 bulbs per year, the energy saving light bulb is in its 2nd year. The ceiling lights have been in even longer and not one has failed. EDIT: Oh, and you can't dim them either, which is crap IMO You can now buy dimming energy effiecent light bulbs now.
Matt H
My only grip is the time is takes for them to get going, but who cares really. The whole country on a whole will be saving 40watts of energy per bulb replacing the equivalent 100w's. I wonder how much this equates to each year. RedM
Even with these energy-efficient bulbs in place our electricity bill has gone up yet again! Considering that we're watching less TV now I'm struggling to work out how this has happened.

jamesmark
I signed up to some scheme whereby the prices wouldn't rise until 2011 IIRC! If that is the case then the only way your DD (if you are paying by DD that is) will go up is if you are using more. If you want me to check you know what to do. RedM
DD? Is that Direct Debit? We don't pay by Direct Debit.
jamesmark
Yes it is. If you pay 1/4 then your bill will only go up if your consumptions goes up. On the subject of light bulbs, Kitting your whole house out (avg 2 bedroom) with energy saving light bulbs does not save you that much, they only save you appx £60 over the bulbs life time. Hardly worth the bother considering their cost as well.
jamesmark
Hardly worth the bother considering their cost as well. It gets even worse when you start going down the avenue of having solar panels and wind turbines. Buy them and it will be your Great Great Grand children* that will get the benefit from the savings. *Exaggeration.
