alaing
When my car gets wet and the rain sits on it the clear coat sometimes goes cloudy where the rain has sat on it and ends up all spotty. When the sun comes out it just goes like it drys out the paint. Ive tried wax and polish but it still affects the paint when it rains. Its like when you leave a glass of water on wooden furniture it makes the lacquer/varnish go white ( I found this out when i left a glass of water on our piano, mum wasnt happy!) So what i want to know is can it be sorted or is it a refinish? thanks alain.
Tricky-Ricky
First off have you tried something like i mild cutting compound, like T cut for example? otherwise it sounds like either bad quality lacquer or it was not applied/mixed properly or sprayed in the right conditions, but could be down to any of these really, unfortunately it sounds like its going to need respraying completely, as if the lacquer is dogey, i would hesitate to just relacquer, for fear of reactions later. How long ago was it sprayed? Edited March 11, 2009 by Tricky-Ricky (see edit history)
