I took my dash off today to tidy up my stereo install, I disconnected all the connectors including the connections to my rear fog light (J-Spec TT with import Fog Light) Tidied everything up and put it back together, I thought job done until I noticed the following is'ent working

* Rear Fog Light

* Front Fog Lights

* Front side light in front indicators

* Rear Headlights

All other lights, brake lights, indicators, main beam and front headlights are working but not the above. I think it has got something to do with the rear fog light connectors.

I have 3 wires that connect to the fog light switch, unfortunately the wires are not traditionally coloured (they are off white, white and green) and I thought I new which way they went on (but obviously I dont)

the fog light switch has the following on the box, POWER, GROUND and ACC (this shows a picture that looks like a light). one of the 3 wires and connectors connects to each one of these and hey presto evertyhing should work.

Has anyone got any ideas, does the above problems sound like it would have anything to do with the Fog Light switch ant the connectors to it. Please advise me on what I am to do to sort this problem, I suppose I need to test which wire has power etc then run this to the power connection but how can

tell which wire is the ground (earth) etc.

This has done my head in so someone please help me

cheers

DVM?

Power should be 12V (I'm guessing), GND should have 0 ohm resistance when tested against the car metalwork, and ACC should light up with (again guessing) 3V when you put the ignition on.

Use metalwork as ground when measuring for power and ACC.

the stereo unit is also fed by the lighting circuit for illumunation. it could be possible that you have blown a fuse while doing your connections. which will result in those systems. not sure which fuse it is though.

Markie , you are a star, you were righ, I blew the tail light fuse when I connected the Fog light incorrectly. I did'nt even know there was a fuse box in the Drivers footwell.

Thankfully all sorted now, you saved my life because my missus is now talking to me again. She was not happy at the prospect of me working on the car all day especially as it is her birthday tomorrow.

Cheers
