csa
The machineshop has been working on my block and head and tells me that if I use the stock gasket my CR will be raised to 8,8:1 should I get a thicker headgasket or just stick with this. and whats the pros and cons? Lee P
I would stick with the stock head gasket, you wont even notice that small change in compression. You would only use a thicker gasket if you wanted to lower the compression to run loads of boost but that would make the car sluggish off boost. Hope this helps
Chris Wilson
I can get Cometic ones made in any thickness you want, within reason, but it'll take time and be quite costly. HKS and others list thicker ones, but at 8.8 to 1 CR on a stock gasket I'd just stay with stock....
csa
okay...been reading around and 8,5-9:1 seems to be okay, so I'll stick with the stock one
