markybhoy86
what you mean?anything i can check?
adnanshah247
well i had a clunking once and found that the little metal clip that holds the brake pad had fallen/taken out so every time i drive the pad was moving around etc. hence the clunking noise. check the brakes first. then get the diff checked, Homer and JamieP should be able to give you the best direction as Homer knows them inside out and Jamie is a master at destroying them. markybhoy86
the noise only happens when i go over bumps. getting the bearing changed removed some of the noise (sounded like a clatter before) now its just a bump bump lol am shit at describing things but i try my best lol some more ideas please
Gordon F
Get a proper 4 wheel alignment done. Worked for me
markybhoy86
full wheel alignment has been done recently and i havn't changed anything since then to throw it off much
Swampy442
You checked the subframe bolts but did you check the bushes? Or was that part of "all bushes". I had the same problem but only over a specific type of bump, turns out the forward right hand bush was fecked. Any handling issues?
markybhoy86
handling has been feeling good, it was crabbing a bit before i got the tracking done but that is sorted now. r u meaning the bushes that the subframe bolts tighten onto? Scott
I had this in the MR2, it was driving me absolutely insane. Turned out to be the exhaust bouncing off the sub frame lol. Where did you get your alignment done? Thats the next thing on my to-do list. How much was it?
markybhoy86
its not the exhaust checked that. got my alignment done at "the garage" http://www.the-garage.co.uk was 75 they did the whole lot, aligment camber toe n wotever else its called. thers another place in bonnybridge called progrip think he does it for 55, the same stuff, havn't used him yet but i've heard good things about him
markybhoy86
right i had a look at the brakes they're doesn't seem to be anything wrong that i notice. do supra's ever suffer from the springs hitting off each other? i know mine has Tein springs on it and they're pretty close to each other- not sure what shocks are on, they look like standard ones to me. just another idea?im running out
movistar
get someone with an nvh testing kit to have a look...we have one here at work and they are great for detecting whines, rattles ect
Paul372
diff, change the diff oil see what comes out quick easy job, if you have lots of bits of metal teeth stuck on the magnetic plug and in the oil then good guess the diff has gone, i found this out with mine
markybhoy86
right i'll get the diff oil changed over the weekend and let use know the outcome. anyone know of a nvh testing kit in scotland?lol
