JohnA
Did a search and brought nothing. Funny that, surely someone must have installed a boost gauge here! The question is: where is the best boost signal pipe to tap? Also info on location of ignition lives etc would be appreciated. Also what's the story with the O2 sensor? any guide into fitting the WB on the soop? cheers fellas, sorry if the questions sound basic to some, but I'm new to the car... JustGav
Your best bet (IMHO) is to give Paul (slow dog) at Miami-GT a call... he will talk you thru it. I've done the installation of one, but purely from a cosmetic point of view and under dash stuff... Paul is your man under the bonnet. dude
Just T into anywhere on the manifold dude, personally i prefer to have the Map sensor with its own dedicated source but thats just me . O2 siteing !!!! AEM say over 30" from the turbo , mine is more like 4" and ive never had or heard of a problem but the sensors arent that dear , i could live with 1 a year and as i run leaded race fuel thats what i bank on Dude
Jake
looks like there are not many hands-on supra owners here, eh? There's loads of hands-on Supra owners. You can tee the vacuum hose for the boost gauge into where the stock pressure sensor is. It's hose 'A' on this pic : You can power the gauge from the back on the clock. merckx
Another tip that someone gave me was to pull off the tube that goes into the pressure sensor ©, put a couple of inches of new tube onto the pressure sensor ©. Then fit your T piece between the two free ends. That way you can avoid cutting into the existing tubing on the car and can remove the boost gauge and stuff and put it back to stock if you want to! JohnA
Ah, so there is not boost hose going through the firewall, right? Nice one, now that we're on a roll, which is the most convenient location to pass cables etc to the cabin? Cheers
dude
If your auto there is a grommet where the cluch cylinder would go or if you take the inner wing liners out on both sides ther is a big orange or yellos grommet going thru just infront of the door shut (by where your ankles are when you sit in the car . Jake
which is the most convenient location to pass cables etc to the cabin? Through the rubber grommet that the throttle cable goes through. It's just below the brake fluid reservoir

JohnA
still trying to find the firewall entry point. Yes there is one near the brake fluid reservoir. But isn't this more appropriate? In fact, is it a grommet at all? I did a Michael Jackson and yes it's soft and willing, but I don't want to cut up the wrong bits http://www.max-boost.co.uk/max-boost/images/supra/grommet.jpg
LeeT
john, just for your information. most people refer to http://www.mkiv.com when they need some help on mods. go to the technical section.

The yellow grommet is just by the loud peddle.
