AndrewOW
Saw it last night with friends . . . . . . probably should have read the novels first . . . . . the ladies present had made their minds up in about 3 minutes!!! I might need to see it again just to be sure - seemed disjointed, very good in parts, strange in parts, dull in parts - almost as though 5 people had sat in different rooms and written parts for it, got together half an hour before the pitch, put it together, though "Fcuk, none of this fits! Oh arse to it, too late to change it now, lets just pitch it!". Oh, really? Hmmm... when's the DVD out?
danhicks22
I haven't read the novel(s?) but saw the film last night and thought it was excellent. One of my favourite films of recent times. A friend explained the original ending to me and it sounded good but they would have had to change a fair bit through the film to make it work properly. I thought the film ending was good as it was, although I may have been bitter/annoyed about it had I read the original. I might have to try and read the original now. I didn't notice the music being particularly loud. Rorschach was awesome - really liked his character. I think the chip fat scene was possibly my favourite - saw it coming with the first shot from behind the food counter, got very excited in the anticipation and wasn't disappointed I didn't bother reading many of the posts on this thread, but thought I'd add my opinion

RedM
Do you EVER check your PMs I read that and then forgot to respond. I was probably distracted by a repost or something. I don't do Torrents or the like but thanks for the heads up. Saving for a Blu-ray player and FOGBTV so that I can fully appreciate it when it comes out. RedM
It's actually quite good The quality or the actual TOTBF film? How long is it?
Todd
About 25m long and the film itself is quite good http://uk.imdb.com/title/tt1295071/

I wouldn't want to miss any extras. Sad ain't it?
Mike
I am going to see this on Sunday I found a 'bloke' friend who is similarly shunned by his female mates at the thought of a three hour Superhero film which isn't actually about Superheroes - going to the cinema with a bloke always seems a bit 'gay' to me? Expect my usual drivel following the viewing, no doubt I'll be mildly unimpressed after the 'name change' hype Martin is currently leading the charge on

Sad ain't it? I tend to hold out for the best version to come out, even if it means waiting a while. A bit like I did for the LOTR box set, and that was so worthwhile too! QSC
Seriously though, I used to spend a fortune on them in the 80s and 90s. These days I have to be more selective due to lack of money. Yes, quite a few people seem to be thinking like that these days...
RiceRocket
..or not if you want to wait for the full 'full' version at Xmas. Oh right they're doing a cinema version release then an extended version some yonks later? (Xmas you say?). I can't be arsed to wait that long, plan A will be to get the immediate dvd release then buy the super-duper mega ultimate extended release on PlayTrade a couple of years later... Sometimes I even lick my lips. Eventually I hear a tut from the missus and I'm dragged onward.
Mike
Just been to the piccies to see this.. it was excellent I know nothing of the 'graphic novel' and it had me gripped from start to finish. Rorschach was amazing and stole the whole thing for me... loads of excellent touches, and I probably need to see it again to appreciate the full spectacle. A bit of a surprise for me that one... I was expecting it to be a bit boring if I'm honest. Another favourite character was.... Charlotte
I liked the sound track. Not paying £9 for it though, cheek.

hadyn
Just finished reading the graphic novel of this and I thought it was superb. A complex tale that probably changed the shape of comics and peoples perceptions of comics when it first came out in the late 80s..
RiceRocket
Now planning on getting a big telly and Blu-Ray for the DVD release. You all set up then?
RedM
You all set up then? Nah! Far from it. Although I won't be buying it until the Ultimate edition comes out at the end of the year.
hadyn
Whats the deal with the ultimate edition?
RiceRocket
Whats the deal with the ultimate edition? It'll be a 5-discer released in December. 2.5hrs is far too short a time period for a movie so there'll be a director's cut wth 'Tales of the Black Freighter' woven in plus extra blah-blah stuff etc.
