Mike
Has anyone else started watching this? It's called Dollhouse and is from Buffy and Angel creator Joss Whedon, and features the delicious Eliza Dushku. The basic premise is a group of 'dolls' of which Dushku is one, who can have personalities input into them - they are then sent on various assignments under guidance of their 'handler' (read 'watcher', Buffy fans) which leads subsequent 'Quantum Leap' type adventures. Obviously the 'story arc' is a slightly more involved and involves lone copper trying to prove the existence of such an establishment.. with lots of double crossing etc. It's basically a showcase for Dushku to kick lots of 'ass' in very skimpy/shiny outfits (a la' Buffy)... I have to say I'm loving it yDcEKo4V7fA It started in US on the 13th February (first three episodes are available from various sources ) - not sure when it comes over here? Probably on Sky in the Autum I would think. ..and here's some Dushku http://cache.io9.com/assets/images/io9/2008/08/eliza-dushku-dollhouse.jpg

RedM
They should never have scrapped Firefly.
Al Massey
Think i will be watching this when it comes out, i used to be addicted to buffy and the angel. Firefly was pretty good too
Mike
They should never have scrapped Firefly. Agreed. Although the first episode was a bit of a snooze fest... picked up after that though. The world just wasn't ready for sci-fi/western I think. The first episode of this one is a little uneven (as you might expect). Episode 2 was how I imagine it to pan out eventually (totally gripping!), and episode 3 is a little bit more 'story arc'... which still looks to be quite good. They haven't really given 'everything' away yet. Whedon only wrote/directed the first one.. hopefully he's due another one soon to keep the momentum going. That said, it's 'all' Buffy-esque' dialogue.. really good stuff
Ewen
..and here's some Dushku http://cache.io9.com/assets/images/io9/2008/08/eliza-dushku-dollhouse.jpg No grey hair. Letch mode *off*.
Charlotte
I didn't even realise it was on. I'm soooo behind with my sci-fi viewing these days. I didn't like Tru Calling though, that was lame.

RedM
Shiny I think we might have to have a Firefly-fest this weekend. So many good episodes especially the 'Mrs. Reynolds' ones.
Todd
'Mrs. Reynolds' ones. Yes, eyebrows indeed, that girl was "gifted" to say the least, quite enjoyed the follow up episode she was in. Enjoying the Dollhouse so far but it's missing the Whedon humour so far and for me that's what made all his other work so good.

Mike
worth watching for the outfits alone The man speaks the truth I just got episode 10 yesterday... is there only 12 in the season then?
Todd
The man speaks the truth I just got episode 10 yesterday... is there only 12 in the season then? 10 was excellent, suspect the next 2 are going to be fantastic. This clears up the 13th episode Okay. So maybe I can help clarify this somewhat. Because we scrapped the original pilot -- and in fact cannibalized some of its parts for other eps -- we really ended up with 12 episodes. But the studio makes DVD and other deals based on the original 13 number. So we created a standalone kind of coda episode. Which is the mythical new episode 13. The network had already paid for 13 episodes, and this included the one they agreed to let us scrap for parts. It does not include the one we made to bring the number back up to 13 for the studio side and its obligations. We always knew it would be for the DVD for sure, but we also think Fox should air it because it’s awesome.
