Alright guys,

Im considering selling up. What cars would you recommend with more than 200bhp, 4 seats (useable for children, need a bit more room than the Supra) that are fairly recent and available for around £5000 (preferably less).

Ive been considering E46 BMW 330s and maybe a mega high mileage S4. Or even the S6 thats been tempting me on Pistonheads.

Jurgen- is it a civic type r? Accord type r? To be honest its out of my price range.

Jamie- I almost bought a non sti ra last year but I had unbelievable trouble insuring it sensibly. Most wanted over 2k. Think its cos its an impreza. Theres that stigma attached.

I'd never considered an octavia. I dont have a problem with them being skodas i have a problem with them being taxi's lol. What engine is in the vrs? Is it a fast diesel like the fabia?

same as the (same era) audi TT's 2l petrol turbo i think..........

I only mention it as about 3-4 years ago i was in wales on a golfing trip, I was in my old TT aertop and the other car was an Octavia and it was four up (clubs and people) compared to my 2 up and it was impressively pacey :)

Hmm, every 'decent' BMW 330 I've looked at has been around the 10k mark, most 2005+ ones closer to 15k. For 5k, you would be looking at taxi mileage. The early ones I think were down on power quite a bit as well, 6.8secs 0-60 rings a bell, maybe worse.

Impreza RA sti.

I picked up an STi wagon for £2400... plenty of space for kids! My GSDs fit perfectly. Oh and 300bhp :)

Cheers guys lots of stuff to consider! I fancy something German- Audi or BMW I think. Not keen on Mondeo's my Dad has one and its awful and I had a mk2/3 Focus and it was awful as well.

I'd be cheeky and offer 5K for this then. I would point out to the guy that once it gets over 100K miles it will drop a grand anyway......;) If you don't ask, you don't get....:sly:
