caseys
You can always try Paint Shop Pro, that was a low cost alternative to PS. Been a while since I used it though. Or check out GIMP for free (yes it really is called GIMP and it's not a joke, it is work safe..) http://www.gimp.org/

caseys
Ah now that sounds more my thing lol:D I'd recommend using google to find some basic image manipulation tutorials too. Otherwise trip down to Borders or WH Smiths (other good magazine stockists are available) and buy yourself a digital art/image magazine, which should run you through the basics on pen tools, colours, filters, effects and layering etc. Some come with free books but they're mainly focused on Photoshop. Amazon always has a good 2nd hand market for books to learn from too. Don't expect to become a master of photoshop or products like it in a short period of time! But good luck with it

Animal
That's nothing. I had to buy a legit copy of AutoCAD 2000 when I was self-employed in '99 and that cost me £3500!
colsoop
Why not download a trial version of the product from Adobe's website. will give you around 15 days to try it before deciding if it is for you or not. If all you want to do is change the colours of cars the paint shop pro will do that just fine

TLicense
The trial version lets you do everything.... for 15 days! Just paid £200 odd for lightroom. :o(
AndrewOW
Adobe Photoshop Elements 7 for £74.75 incl. vat from here: http://tinyurl.com/ywdv6x And it would be easily good enough to do most things that you see on here too.

Branners
We use Adobe Elements at work and it should do most of what you need for £75.
