Metallica - World Magnetic Tour

Saw them at Sheffield Arena on Saturday.

Fricking laser beams, pyrotechnics, giant inflatable balls. Awesome.

16 years since the last time I saw them there, better than ever. It was all over too soon though! I'm just downloading the concert from livemetallica.com now :)

I would have enjoyed Machine Head more too, if I'd have listened to anything of theirs from the last 12 years or so. They of course played Davidian though :D

Anyone else been, or going to see them this time around?

My employers have a corporate box at the O2 and were giving away tickets to staff for the Metallica gig, free bar and everything. I dunno if they found anyone to take them in the end. I did consider having them, but it's a long way to go for a free bar.

Doesn't sound like the kind of thing you'd normally struggle to give away even without a free bar but you southern types are harder to please than the "owt fo' nowt" northerns :)

Absolutly Brilliant.

Love the stage in centre of the arena.

Stage set up was good, but not a patch on the Wherever we may roam tour set up. But then I guess they weren't sharing the stage with two other acts. Also the "explosions" particularly the opening of One, were nowhere near as loud as they used to be. Some health and safety thing I suspect.

Listening again to the concert from Saturday, wondering if I can get tickets for Birmingham...

Last I saw them was 2004 so I'm really looking forward to seeing them again (Glasgow on the 26th) as I think Death Magnetic is great.

They better play Judas Kiss!

Saw Machine Head just in December so it'll possibly be tedious as I've seen them plenty times before.

Not too interested in The Sword at all, they'll just be the band I want to hurry up and get off stage for Tallica!
