Markie
Got MOT second test tomorrow now. Hopefully after its passed with flying colours on the emissions, I was wondering how hard it is to remove the temporary first CAT which was put in for the MOT and to re-fit insert pipe? If its easy with a jack and some axle stands I will try it myself. Will I also need anything extra such as gaskets or some exhaust sealent or is it more of a bolt on job? merckx
There'll not be much room underneath, I put mine up on the ramps. You'll need a decent socket with some long extensions and a universal joint. Use some exhaust assembly paste on the joints. Do you keep the second cat on the car? I haven't had a MOT with one cat but is supposed to be able to pass with just the one. I've got both cats removed with two decat pipes fitted. I'm going to just replace the second cat for the MOT , it's much easier to get to than the first one! Markie
God damn thing failed again. This time because of the Lamba reading. It passed on HC's and CO's. Had a word with CW and he thinks fitting second CAT should do the job, and also see if the uprated fuel pump is on the 9V when on 1 turbo, then steps to 12V when second turbo kicks in. I checked with TDI and their kit runs at 12V all the time.. Is this good, bad? Anything I can do with the above pump if this is a bad mod? Just really cant beleive its now failed on this reading... Really put me on a downer..

Markie
Dude, the sensor is only 2 days old. So should be all nice and clean. Also, yes, I did do the ECU reset. Its odd now that it passes on the Hydrocarbons and the CO's but now stumbled on the LAMBA readings.. Odd thing is, he reakons with the old sensor that was reading CO's at 9% was giving a lower LAMBA reading, but now with new sensor pushing CO's into below 0.3% he says the LAMBA has gone up.. Very odd, just thinking its worth sticking in second CAT aswell, as I dont think there is anything wrong with the cars running... It really has been annoying, and the misses is moaning that I am not smiling at the moment.

Markie
OK guys.. My next step tomorrow is to replace the plugs which I picked up today. I was thinking of putting in some new Denso Iridium 24's, as my mad thinking thought that if the plugs are a bit dirty etc then they are not producing a decent enough spark to burn the mix properly, so I hope putting in these new ones and resetting the ECU will help the LAMBDA reading on yet another emissions test next week. I will let you guys know how it goes.. However, if anyone has any other ideas or solutions, please let me know. Thanks, Marcus...
