TLicense
in my supra instruktion manual it says that the car can use up to 1 liter oil to 1000km... if it consumes more oil than that it should be taken the nearest toyota repair shop.. why does the book say this? to protend that shot valve seals is ok??! It's probably because after a couple of hundred thousand miles everything will be fairly worn and it will burn oil. If it was using 1 litre of oil for every 1000km straight out of the factory I would have been handing the keys back....
TLicense
could be the valve stem seals, does it smoke a bit on start up I disagree, the valve stem oil problem is because of the amount of oil that get's splashed up onto the stem of the valve that runs down the valve stem when the engine is switched off and ends up in the cylinder. I just can't see there being the volume of oil on the stems to near empty a sump of oil in short a short amount of time. I would check all over the engine for a leak somewhere, if nothing is obvious then top it up and keep an eye on it and see if it goes down.
