VIL
Guys I am looking for some feedback on the style, graphics and presentation of our new child protection web site. We have tried to hit the right tone etc but would like more feedback on what people think. I am particulary interested to hear back from the people on here who are graphic designers and some constructive comments. see - www.bbesafe.com Ta
ellis
Like it - clean, easy to navigate through, good choice of graphics/illustration style. Not sure how you stand with using Dwight and matey boy on the Crisp part though - is that from you or 3rd party?
JustGav
I like the look of the website, but I'm still not 100% sure what your product is? I assume it is some form of IM filtering system? (I could be looking too deep into it...) EDIT : Okay, I understand the product, neat idea and it seems nicely packaged I use similar technologies here at home for similar results however mine are hand crafted and this would be useful for less IT-aware parents. Ark
Not sure I'd have the header bar reading: Child safety | bullying | internet grooming: get started today for free Hits slightly the wrong note maybe. I know they are different parts of the layout, but hey you asked for feedback.
Carl_S
Agree with Ark above, maybe anti in front of the last two, or a little speech bubble that come up when you hover the mouse over them that gives definitions? like this: bpu. Is it aimed at parents, isn't it? For me, and this is very personal, it seems almost too idyllic, and whilst the cartoon characters are sweet, I feel it gives the whole product a baby feel to it, and lacks toughness. I have the image in my head of someone's avatar here, a carebear with an uzi. On the report abuse information on the bottom right, where it says "someone" I feel it would be better to say "child"? There is a little sp error on : http://www.bbesafe.com/bbesafe.asp..... the word "straight". The IMsafer "jellybean family" graphic could be made more 3d and updated a bit to stand out as more modern. The "spotlight on this issues at the moment" phrase dates the text I feel, and detracts from the good point about not sensationalising. I like the uncluttered simple feel without too many links. stevie_b
I think it looks really good. I know that doesn't help you much, but I think the graphics are spot on. There's no "next" link on the text in the bbesafe.asp page, but there is in index.asp and bbeinformed.asp.

Hits slightly the wrong note maybe. Got a point!! Might need to move the three sub-lines away a bit - they don't link anywhere anyway.
