Dave_SZ-R
Hey guys, In my 'Vehicle Details' section on my V5, my cylinder capacity is listed as 2000cc. Obviously this isn't correct! Is this is a big problem, and should I contact the DVLA to inform them? Any help is much appreciated.
Homer
There's a form you can submit in the post office to correct this, I think it may cost £30 or so. Probably advisable to get it corrected, just in case...
JamesF
One of my previous cars was down as a petrol when it was a diesel. It was changed no problem. It can be done but Im not sure of the ins and outs of it
SimonB
Just write and tell them. When I first got mine the VIN number was wrong on the V5 - 1 digit out. I just wrote and told them and they sent a new one, no proof or anything was needed.
keener
When my supe was first imported the V5 said it was a Volvo S40! They got the reg right though! I just told them it was wrong and they corrected it no probs. Jurgen said mistakes are quite common - not sure if thats in general or just imports tho. ivan
Or you may keep it and enjoy lower car tax. Would make no difference. Anything over 1549cc is £185 for older motors.
Dave_SZ-R
Thought it was drinking too much for a 2000cc! Correct me if Im wrong, but Im sure someone put a 3S-GTE from an MR2 Turbo in a Supra at one point. It was gold with a wide arch JGTC look kit. The logic behind it was that it was smaller and lighter, and easy to mount the engine further back in the car, giving it something closer to a 'front-mid-engined' layout as found in an S2000. Think it ended up in Scandinavia. Ofcourse, this could all have been a drug-induced hallucination. Think Ill go and contact the DVLA.
