Lacoste82
Hey all! I have for sometime now, had a suspesion that my Supra was using more Petrol than it should! I currently only getting around 5-6 km pr. ltr.(6km = 3,72 miles) And that is, a far as i have discovered, way to little! Should be getting 7-10 km ( 4,35 - 6,21 miles)! Or, am i way off? If im not, what could be the reason to the high petrol consumption? the car is running well, no problems that im aware of! It got a "new" engine(n/a) 1 year ago, aswell as a "new" transmisson(auto).! And last but not least, how far does your Supras run on a tankfull? its around 60 ltr. in a tank or so, isnt it! lol, not really knowing, as i go by the mileage indicater in the car, everytime im at the gasstation! Thx in advance! Regards Mikkel
Gaz6002
Mine does about 180 miles to a tank... but that's not the car's fault You could check the O2 sensor is in good condition as a starting point.

Robbie
On my last visit from kent to Glasgow I managed to squeeze over 400 miles out of my 6speed with the larger UK tank. Not bad for single turbo!
superpaulwilson
I get a steady 290 - 350 per tank from my N/A auto dependant on how enthusiastic it gets driven. Used to get 250 max until i cleaned the o2 sensors.
johnny g
I get about 270-300 miles on my VVti TT6 I think it equates to around 23mpg on motorway runs. I have seen 190 miles on a rather spirited (aka drove like a c0ck) drive.
captainchaos
too scared to check since the rebuild was about 180 before

Lacoste82
Some of u talk about cleaning the Co2 sensors, of which the mkiv have 2, if i remember correctly! They are easy to reach and get out - BUT, regarding the cleaning part - How do u guys do that? Im asking caus i dont want to damage the sensors - So was hoping someone might explain how they did! Mechanical? With solvents, did u completely remove the sensors etc.!?

Remove, leave overnight in lemon juice (or anything mildly acidic), then clean off (do not use water, I think carb cleaner is advised, but best to check as that is probably wrong!) Cleaning is only a temporary measure, if they're playing up, they need replacing. There's only one on the jspec TT, but two on the UK and NA.
