I have been considering a porsche 996 (911).

Would be a 1999/2000 reg.

3.4 litre N/A carrera 2 0r 4.

Anyone have any experience with one of these.

Wondering what they are like to drive etc.

I have laways loved the 911 and just fancy something like this.

I have looked and looked at these.... I was warned off by Stevieboy on here (Porsche technician)...;) He said that the 3.4 engines were prone to failures and expensive ones at that. He reckoned that the only "good" engines were the ones in the TT or the GT3 as they were a different design..!!

boring

It is rather, reading the same question over and over again when a wealth of information has already been posted. Failure to look back at this information is a bit of a poke in the eye for those who have taken the time to post it.

Or do you mean I'm boring? If I bore you then you have options:

or:

Stick a few grand in and you'll won't have to put up with my dull replies. Heck you might even make more of your own fantastic posts, I always love reading your input.

Whoops, to be honest, I cant recall ever seeing a thread myself, must of missed them and I didnt consider looking for such a thread.

If it is Supra related I generally do use the search, just didn't realise this topic had been discussed so many times before..

Me Bad....:taped:

Strange, I just went to create a thread with an identical subject to this one and the auto search feature brought up a number of previous threads.

"Porsche 911 (996) advice.."

"Thoughts Porsche 996 ??"

...being two of them. Not as big a deal as I'm making it out to be by any means but the info is here already and there are lots of dedicated sites with even more info on.

Think you hit the nail on the head, "NOT as Big a deal as I'm making out to be..."

Now get back to your cup of tea....:p

Ask Jazz1 on here about his 996 C2 Cab.He's had it a while now. He doesn't mention it much though.

I quite like the 996 but I'm scared away by the running costs.

Mind you there's a few bargain 996 Turbos on Pistonheads. How about stretching to one of those :D

Auto though, isn't it?

Guest GirlRacer!

I did a few laps in a 996 at a track day a while back... pretty good fun but not as amazing as I was expecting. Just felt a bit tame.

Although I guess it probably didn't help that I'd just got out of a very tail-happy Ferrari 360! :)

Have you test-driven one yet?

I say old chap, would you mind terribly if I asked you to write your posts in something resembling English. The thing is, you see, it's rather tricky to fathom what the fukc you're on about.

Thanks awfully.

Translation for Jake, and the rest of us:

Yes I wouldn't recommend one on the basis that their electrical systems are unreliable and as they have high fuel consumption it would be a good idea if you had the keys to your own private petrol station.
