halllon
Hello guys, What is the most lightweight single or dual plate clutch and flywheel combo out there? I have had an ORC (Ogura) dual plate clutch combo weighing in at ~13.5kg (IIRC) but I want to try a lighter combo, preferably below 10kgs. I know the Tilton 4-plate combo with the 1st gen flywheel weighs in below 5kgs (2nd gen is ~7kgs?), but the Tilton one is out of my range cost wise. The clutch has to have a "street spec" compound such as SPEC stg 1/2+ and regular ORC clutches which can handle substantial slippage/modulation as the car is used for drifting. The car is roughly 500fwhp/750fwnm. Please let me know if you have any recommendations. I don't mind swapping makes, e.g. SPEC clutch and ACT flywheel etc. All info appreciated! Cheers. Wez
OS Giken do light flywheel and clutch combos, their site may contain details
halllon
Cheers Wez, I've had a look on this site: http://www.osgiken.net/products/racingmultiplate.html They have pretty light flywheels, but their regular clutches seem to be too heavy for what I am looking for. The lightest OS Giken clutch/fw combo is 14.4 kgs which is even heavier than the ORC I have today. Does anyone know the approximate weight of the stock 2JZ-GTE clutch, or the weight of comparable single plate clutches (SPEC, ACT, Exedy, etc.)? Maybe a good single plate mated to a further lightened Fidanza flywheel would be a a good and affordable solution...
Wez
Why do you need it so light?

JamieP
RPS street max with the Cyn-R-G Billet Flywheel has got to be a good option, have you changed the Crank pulley to a light weight one aswell? only fit a quality one such as boostlogic or Titan. halllon
Cheers for the info Jamie, I haven't changed the crank pulley yet. The Cyn R G flywheel seems to be approximately the same weight as the Fidanza flywheel (~14 lbs). Do you know the weight of the RPS Street Max?
