Killzone 2 Ps3

pmsl you sound really impressed:blink:

I've been playing games for 22 years. Each time they get prettier and introduce the odd new 'killer' feature to get you to part with your hard earned.

It's been a while since I really went "wow" at a game.

I still believe the PC is the best place for FPS.

Same here, until I played Fallout 3. It's a masterpiece.

When will you people reject this 'its a a cell processor' and 'it will come good eventually' and just buy an Xbox?

PS3 is rubbish. It has no games of any note. You're clinging to the old days.

New Xboxs don't over heat. It has all of the best games and all of the downloadable content.

TBH Mike, I do see where your coming from, I own both consoles and the Xbox is a great gaming platform (when it works) I do think though that given the range of things the ps3 does aside from play games, makes it a clear winner.

Sure maybe the games arnt always as good as the Xbox, with regards 3rd party support.. However I never really got over the fact Microsoft knowingly sold millions of defective consoles just to "win" a console race, Surely a reliable, solid well performing product should always come first?

I think in taking there time and playing it safe Sony have a more reliable machine with a much more diversive userbase, however in this process they have lost there "gaming" crown. And I think thats really the only thing going for the xbox over the ps3 realistically the gaming crown, on every other level it seems to struggle to keep up.

Wheather or not the newer xbox 360's dont over heat or not, surely the question remains, why did they in the first place, for so so long without the product being withdrawn for a re design.. Simple.. $$$

Anyways, Like I say I have both and for me personally regardless of all the never ending mines better than yours debates that will always go on, my vote goes to my ps3, simply as its more reliable, does a hell of a lot more and does it in a way more suited to my own requirements from a "next gen" console! :)

Anyways, to answer the original thread question, yeah I have downloaded and played it, I thought the control system was a little wierd to aim but aside from that I really liked it, Looking forward to getting this.. Oh and ghostbusters the video game! lol

Got the demo, played it, liked it. Looks polished but personally I found the control system awkward.

Im with Mike, best games and content are on the 360. I primarily got the PS3 for the Blu Ray. Apart from Killzone whats the next Playstation only killer title?

So looking forward to Ghostbusters, FEAR 2, Bioshock 2 and Race Pro

I love my new PS3, it's just starting to reach an age of maturity where the coders get to grips with it and the games get better.

PS Network is a major plus, blu ray, easy HDD upgrade, better graphics and if you have a PC there's no need for an XBox as the majority of titles are available on both I think?

Also you can run Linux on it and build a cluster if you want to. :D

I'm not sure I would want to run Linux.. I just want to play games :D

Fair enough the hard drive upgrade is easier with PS and it has Bluray, but other than that is there anything it can do the XBox can't? I can stream media from my PC on the XBox.... I think that's pretty much all I need :)

I really want to get a PS3 and I've had the £300 ear marked for about six months now to buy one (oh, I'm frivolous)... but I can't bring myself to get one 'just' for Bluray and Little Big Planet - all the reviews I've seen of KZ2 say it's good, but GOW2 is much better...

Can someone give me reason to spend the cash? :) Love new toys, but £300 for basically one or two games is a bit crazy.

If you just want to play games, tbh I would say your best off using your 300 quid on buyin xbox titles.. seems pointless buying a second console if your just going to use it for nothing more than gaming.

The ps3 has a wide range of things you can do besides "games" though.. Im not gonna start bigging up one console over another as there are lists all over the internet that tell you what the console has to offer etc :)

I would however say from my perspective the main bonus points are, reliability from the day i got it, hdmi support from day 1, blu ray support and free internet gaming.. but theres a lot more than that too..

My advice if your seriously looking to get into the ps3 genre is to have a read up on a few sites and decide if it suits your requirements before you pay for one.

As you say, if all you want is to play games, then personally I would use my cash to simply buy more games. Infact, I only bought my ps3 as I was so dissapointed in my 360 after several warrenty repairs that I refused to invest any more cash into what I saw as a sub standard system [which at the time i think most people will agree it was!]

Anyways, have a read and then make your mind up bud :)

I dont know what a cell processor is and I wasn't aware that any of the games I happily play on my ps3 are 'rubbish'. And who spun you that load of cr@p about the newer xbox's not overheating? was it a press release from MS? I know quite a few people who would gladly tell you otherwise. One of which got very annoyed after calling MS support to be told it was probably his fault as he set it next to his telly instead of in an open ventilated area:taped:

Mine was £200 for the 80Gb brand spanking (Thanks BigCol), Little big was £15.83 from Asda and the other games I bought (older but big titles) ranged from £8 - £15 off eBay.

You can find bargains if you keep 'em peeled. I wasn't going to pay 300 quid either.

How about don't spend the cash at all?

A few mobile phone companies have been running deals where you can get an 80Gb PS3 free if you take out a £30-35/month contract with them for 18 months. Admittedly the handset choices aren't anything special but you save £300 on a PS3 if you're up for a renewal on your phone and don't mind the handset.

For example :

http://www.phones4u.co.uk/special-offers/FreeGifts.asp?Gift=Playstation3

And yes it's not a scam, you walk in the shop and no rebate lark, you sign a contract, walk out with phone + ps3 within 30 mins.

hmmm its an old platform, exactly the same as Oblivion

I have both game,s didnt really like Oblivion, but I love Fallout 3.

Killzone 2 looks amazing, will be interesting to see how the full game works out, most people seem impressed so far. I'm sure it'll be good, but there are a lot of 'good' shooters out now and there have been for ages.

Its hard to make something totally unique or significantly different in the genre and those are the games that really stand out.
