caseys
I'm looking to sell my Macbook Pro shortly to buy the new Mac Pro when it comes out. Thought I'd see if anyone on the forum would be interested, it's quite a meaty spec and would suit people that are heavily into graphic design / photography. Spec: 2.4Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo 17' Matte 1920x1200 LCD screen (not a single duff pixel) 4Gb SODIMM DDR2 Ram @ 667Mhz 250Gb 5400rpm HDD nVidia GeForce 8600M GT with 128Mb Apple Airport wifi 802.11/a/b/g/n (600Mb/s) 8x DVD-RW 3x USB 2.0 ports 1x Firewire 800/400 Port DVI-D Port (Will run an additional display at up to 2600x1600 I think ) 10/100/1000 Ethernet port Inbuilt 56k modem Card slot for 3G modem / SATA drive Magsafe power supply Adapater lead to plug into a VGA port (so you could hook up to a HDTV Casing still in mint condition with no dents or scratches, also comes with neoprene sleeve so you can put it in any rucksack. Great for watching movies too as screen supports full HD Will come with fully packaged OEM version of 10.5 Leopard OSX. Also will through in a Quicktime Pro license if wanted. OSX including iLife 07 so photo, movie, DVD, music editing software included. HDD can be upgraded to 500Gb if wanted for the cost of the drive - I'll fit and install software. XP or Vista can be pre-loaded on it and system setup to dual-boot. All HW will work fine under XP, so if you hate OSX you could actually never use it... This is the third pro line laptop I've had off Apple and they are absolutely flawless. If you want a good hardworking well integrated laptop which if managed fine you only have to reboot once maybe every 4-6 weeks then this is for you! Oh yeah also I have a 3G USB dongle with 3 network, £15/month with 3Gb of data. Can do up to 7.2Mb/s depending on coverate. 9 months left on the contract, happy to transfer - Dongle will otherwise set you back £49-£99 at places. No cost to it, just take the contract on Handy when on the move but of course I will have no further need for it if laptop is sold. Bought on 05/12/07. Applecare coverage (parts replacement/labour) until 05/12/10. Cost retail then £1949 - paid £1832 with my discount. £1050 ovno.

Buy another one for redundancy in case yours fails Not that they do though It's a lovely laptop and would like to keep it but can't afford to have it and a mac pro! Also found prices of 24' 1920x1200 screens have dropped! Just ordered a Samsung one for £205 with a 3 year warranty! So have this and one of those would be a brill setup for anyone! caseys
I am looking at a BenQ one... Which Samsung did you get and from where? Ebuyer, the Samsung 2443 in a matte casing (I hate reflections) Gamut is good, very bright. Calibrated it last night hooked up to the Macbook Pro and it looks stunning. No dead pixels and for £209 it's a good price. Came with both DVI and VGA leads. Would highly recommend, seems fine sat next to my cinema display

Yes, the 15' Model is going for £1200 The 17' (which I'm selling) is going for £1500. With a 12 month warranty. This has a 23 month warranty left on it (with Apple), as well as extras like the casing, the 3G internet dongle etc. Also alas only glossy screens which you want to avoid like the plague. Afraid the price is sticking at £1000 ovno which I think is a very competitive price no matter where you look.

caseys
And a few days later... I'll wait until next week, it'll be £45.99 then Heh, and here is where it's staying. I've had a couple of offers but they're just too low. I'm not in a huge hurry to sell, I suppose I shouldn't be too friendly and offer people a competative price on here
