Exercise suggestions please!

I normally run quite a lot, 6 or 7 days a week between 2 and 5 miles a day. However I've injured my foot, I've rested it for a week now and it's still bad so I need to find an alternative until I can run again... no funny comments... :p

 

So it needs to be exercise that doesn't involve my foot and that I can do in my house for free. I already lift weights so I don't want to increase that as I have no desire to look like a bloke, although I could add in additional ones I suppose. However the only thing I can think of is sit ups and I don't think I can do an hour of sit ups a day!!

 

Any suggestions?! :blink:

Cycling and rowing still use my foot too much I fear :( Plus my bike is broken at the mo and I don't have a rowing machine!!

 

I'm going to google squats, tricep dips, leg lifts now...

 

I wouldn't recommend squats with a dodgy foot. I'd only do exercies which involve either sitting or lying down with light weights or maybe one of those big elastic band things.

Its less impact than running, but yes will still be needed!

 

Have a look at the other challenges then ;)

 

Or yoga.... I am going to give this a go sometime :)

Someone here just said Yoga but it sounds like you need to actually learn/get into it, which I'm not interested in, this is just a temp thing to stop me gaining 18 stone while my foot gets fixed :D

 

I'm going to get one of those support bandage type things today and then at least I might be able to walk on it.

If you don't eat sh*t loads theres no reason why your put on any extra weight.:)

That's more for toning anyway. What about swimming? I know you said for free at home but there's a leisure centre near you isn't there? Swimming isn't that expensive I don't think....Or maybe some gardening?

 

Can't do swimming for 2 reasons - Stig and I need prescription goggles haha!!
