Jellybean
What do you fine the best polish and wax? Polishes Meguiars Metal Polish -- Didnt think much of it myself, found it didnt polish the surface too good AutoGylm Metal Polish -- Found this quiet good but not excellent AutoSol Metal Polish -- So far the winner hands down, fantastic results Waxes AutoGlym Resin Wax -- Found it very good but the white residue left is a nightmare to clean off and if applied near your window frame, weeks to get it off Meguiars CARNAUBA WAX -- Found this very good due to no residue left over when you take the wax off Any other products recommended, I heard te Do Do juice and waxes are good but expensive:(
AndyT
Best bet is to have a word with Stonkin or Peter Richards. It'll save you money and time. Stonkin's results on JamieP's car are simply stunning. I use the Meguairs products and Carnauba Sonax from Peter. Do Do Lime juice looks a good pre wax cleanser and I'm going to get some Vics Concours to protect after waxing. Both recommended by Stonkin. michael
Fairy Liquid and Mr Sheen for me, it's pointless to spend more than a few pounds on car washing, the results are the same no matter what you do.

michael
Good choice on the Vic BTW AndyT - Collectors is quite nice too, one I tend to fall back on when I run out of Mr Sheen
Stonkin
Michael, whats the collectors like to use compared with concourse?
michael
Michael, whats the collectors like to use compared with concourse? Much the same really, easy on, easy off, no dust, not the greatest smell, good results. Concours has the slight edge IMO, slightly deeper, wetter, shine on darker colours, otherwise there doesn't seem to be much in it, both punch above their price. Stonkin
Cheers mate, have just never used the collectors but have used the red for a while and love it. Generally i use the vics, but if doing something other than a car (like a horsetruck!) or knowing someone wants a better lasting wax than looks, i'll use collonite. You wont be disappointed Andy. Just keep it nice and thin. I normally follow 'the rules' with vics and remove it after 5 mins, but when doing Jamie's, i did the whole car, which took 30 mins and then removed and i have to say it came off a lot better with it being slightly dryer. Left it a while whilst doing other bits and repeated again.
