and sorta chit chat and kinda spotted so feel free to this post if you want to John.

Just met a guy in my town today who has just bough a 429 dyno tested Jap MKIV. He was at a main dealer while I was picking up my brake referb kit. When I came out of the show room and back to my car I said Hi as you do , the owner was talking to a bloke from the dealership about an engine management problem. I asked what the problem was and the guy explained that he was getting engine warning light at high boost but no apparent power drop. The guy in the dealer overall guy looked at me and said to the owner, "These are a bit special you should ask him, looking at me, he's an expert."

I did not need telling twice, so I dived in and started having a look. Not much you can do by looking but it felt good to be called an expert by a main dealer, talking fuel cut, and fuelling problems engine codes and diagnostic pin numbers. Felt good while it lasted.

I am so glad I don’t take my car to be serviced there. Without slagging off the dealer in front of the guy I gave the owner my number and suggested he ring for a chat. So that he does not get ripped off. From what the owner told me it does not sound like fuel cut as there is apparently no noticeable loss of power, but the guy could not tell me the level of boost he is running when the lights show. The lights stay on until he switches of the ignition then every thing is OK until he hits high??? boost again.

Any suggestions.

If he rings I would like to help him out and point him in the direction of the BBS The car is black with OZ SuperLagera's( Sp) they look very good on it. Loads of Jap Nagivation/TV and other toys in the cockpit.

Hi boost or Hi Speed??

Ask him if he is able to get the same error whilst accelerating to high speeds...gently.

That would point to a poor speed signal.

He needs a boost gauge for starters and then you need to have a poke around at the wiring behind the dash.
