hoff
Had a similar problem last year. I was losing water and did an extensive search around the engine (on a ramp as well as the floor). While we could see water dripping we could not for the life of us find the leak. We took the water pump off just to have a look properly at it, and hey presto a hairline crack. It was very small, had to check it was a crack, but that was enough.
AlanM
Maybe the car is objecting to being so dirty?
Dnk
Put a NEW rad cap on it, put a NEW thermostat in it, get a PROPER garage to do a coolant system pressure check and a combustion gasses in coolant test and pray. After reading through all this thread:( just do the above
SupraTRD83
Maybe the car is objecting to being so dirty? lol thanks alot, is it the wrong type of weather for it at the moment, would you believe i cleaned it saturday
SupraTRD83
right the garage have come back to me saying the following: 'hi, we havent looked properly at the car yet but it looks like youll need a new radiator, ill get you a quote then call you back' there is 2 problems with what he said there: 1. he hasn't even looked yet he is already saying its more than likely the radiator. 2. he is getting me a quote before even fully knowing if thats what needs doing. seems to me there pulling a fast one and trying to replace a crack pipe/hose and give me a radiator charge, surely if it was faulty radiator it would have been spewing out????
