SUPRALOOPY
All my customers buy me alchohol to say thanks?? Why ??? I think I have a problem anyway so what would more drink prove?? I do not and will never drink during work time, although that is now most of the time due to being self employed, but why do customers think that a crate of beer or a bottle of whiskey is what I want?? I never come across as a piss head nor conduct my business drunk or under the influence of any drink:blink: Is this just the motor trade or just me?? Gaz6002
I'm thinking it's something to do with people trying to show their appreciation in a way you'll enjoy. Send 'em my way if you can't drink them all

merckx
I think it's generally assumed that most people from all walks of life enjoy a drink in their leisure time so they give you a gift of alchohol to express a more personal appreciation of what you've done for them. I hope they give you money for the work you've done aswell?

Havard
Dave, don't take it so personally!! If you did me a favour (long shot I know), then I would probably get you a bottle of something as it cheaper than paying you....... Mate, most people will get someone a bottle as a sign of appreciation. IT DOESN'T MEAN THAT YOU HAVE TO DRINK IT..!! Although, Mrs H bought me a box of chocolates for Valentines day and they went within a couple of hours..... H.

Dave (not the best candidate for this discussion I know) Hey i totally know what you mean! and when you say to people "i will do it for a drink" i don't think they really get it:blink: I hardly drink at all and come Christmas time it all seems to come rolling in, i would say i enjoy the tin of biscuits more than the drink...so i usually take it home and have friends round so consume it all and with any-luck they bring round food :d in my eyes its a fair exchange and it a merry night for all to say the least;). I just wish my gas and electricity suppliers would do it for a drink as iam going to France soon:)
