Charlotte
Having a smear test isn't, lets face it, going to fix anything, you have to be incredibly lucky as a lady to catch it early enough in that area as there are no external symptoms AFAIK until it's too late. Having a smear test at the right time is just blind luck unfortunately. That's not strictly true, there are lots of symptoms that women have - not necessarily on the outside but many changes to body behaviours etc - bloating, pain, bleeding, indigestion, irregular periods, constipation. Yes they're attributed to many other things but doctors are very thorough these days when it comes to gynae things. I feel very sorry for Jade's children. I can totally understand her logic of doing as much media as she can so that she can leave as much as she can behind for them. It's an awful thing for someone so young to die. I probably didn't explain myself, AFAIK, it's an incredibly aggressive cancer and once someone has taken note of the symptoms that do present themselves, as Jade did, it's too late... colsoop
Couldn't stand the women, she pretty much sums up what has gone wrong with this country. However i wouldn't wish this on anyone and i hope her and her family have as much quality time together before the inevitable.

My missus is one of the lucky ones and I am sure there are many others who could end up like Goody if it weren't for regular screening. Don't put it down to luck or chance, regular tests can be life saving.

Carl_S
I am heartened by the response that people give jade here. When someone is clearly dying or is dead they should always attract a sense of respect. Whoever they are and whatever class they are. Princess diana and jade have a lot in common here. SupraStar 3000
Exclusive photographic rights have just been sold on Jades wedding for £700,000! I've just lost alittle bit of sympathy for her now!
AndrewOW
Exclusive photographic rights have just been sold on Jades wedding for £700,000! I've just lost alittle bit of sympathy for her now! Well as long as it isn't with taxpayer's money, then I haven't got a problem with it. I won't be buying the rags. I think if she can make enough money before she pops off, to enable her kids to have a comfortable life, then why not?
Guest Garfy
Exclusive photographic rights have just been sold on Jades wedding for £700,000! I've just lost alittle bit of sympathy for her now! why? as far as I see it she has 2 choices 1) spend her last few months fighting the press and trying to hide from them (unsuccessfully) 2) go along with them, give them what THEY want, and make some money for her kids I know what I would do

She has had a real rollercoaster of a life and has done incredibly well with no apparant skill or talent. Best wishes to her I say.
Guest dangerousandy
Exclusive photographic rights have just been sold on Jades wedding for £700,000! I've just lost alittle bit of sympathy for her now! Its comments like this that just show how jealous some people are. She is never going to get the chance to see her kids grow up, and she is never going to have the chance to spend that money and enjoy it. The poor woman is going to be dead in a few months, so who cares if she gets £1,000,000 for her wedding photo's.
ellis
Exclusive photographic rights have just been sold on Jades wedding for £700,000! I've just lost a little bit of sympathy for her now! I think you'll find she's sorting her kids out and making sure that they're set financially, not that it will ever make up for losing their mum - and seeing it play out on TV too. I think she's doing the right thing - screw the tabloids and mags for as much money as possible - would they have offered that much if she was going to live? I guess if you asked the kids if they'd sooner have £700K or their mum you'd not to be surprised by the answer.

Pot
In Ed's defence, when I saw all the publicity about it, I had a moment when I thought "That's right, cash in on it", but then saw her admission that she was gathering money for the kids, and understood... Not sure if Ed's got kids or not (Has he got laid yet?), but us childless ones think about things differently, as it's not a daily subject?... (Not trying to stir up any hassle, a fair defence I think! )
