far
Just see on the news she has a few months to live Whatever she is, she doesnt deserve to die at such a young age
tooquicktostop
It is a real shame for her and her very young children, I hope the last few months are special and that the media cut her some slack as no doubt it will be reporting every stage
AndrewOW
Yes, it is very sad really, but she's being very brave in making sure her kids are set up properly for the future. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/7890002.stm
Dr_Doom
very sad news ... it doesn't matter how annoying somebody is, no one deserves this. (well very few people)..
MrRalphMan
Being annoying doesn't mean she deserves to die like that, with the young kiddies too. The BBC state that she is going to explain to her 4 & 5 year olds about what is going to happen, I can't even think about that kind of conversation with my kids or how the hell she is even going to be able to attempt that. Didn't really like her, but deffo not deserved.

Class One
Her illness provoked an interesting discussion at work a few months back when she was first diagnosed. A few cynics suggested that she was cashing in on her illness, especially as she was informed so publicly when partcipating in the Indian version of Big Brother and continued to do so with her reality TV programme. I however, so the whole thing as a tragedy, a young woman under 30 suffering from such a terrible illness. Jade had her hysterectomy a few weeks before my wife, so I could at least get a grasp of how terrible this must have been for her. In addition she was having her chemotherapy and yet she continued to put on a brave face. Now her illness has spread and her prognosis is bleak. Two young kids will grow up without their Mum. Funny thing is, is that I always viewed her as the epitome of everything that was going wrong in modern British society. Famous for nothing. Infamous for her lack of intellect, the butt of others jokes and her alleged "celebrity" status. Its tragic now. I hope that when her time comes, it's swift and peaceful and that she has her loved ones around her to comfort her.

I have always viewed her as someone who has made the best out her limited abilities and you can't knock her for her success doing that. She has always irritated me and I would normally have cracked a gag at her expense, but not now..!! She will at least leave a decent legacy and a good living for her kids, but I doubt many children would take financial security over the loss of their mother...!! H. _Lynz_
I have been watching her story on living TV which included everything from her diagnosis, right up to her having treatment. I can't believe that she won't make it even though the specialists weren't that hopeful from the beginning. She's a very brave woman who loves her boys more than anything. Such a shame that they are going to lose her.
Mrs H
If she is keeping it together as reported then she has my upmost respect. That takes real strength. Not seeing my boys grow up is something I can't even think about. I hope the press respect her privacy and dignity in the coming months. hogmaw
It is tragic there is no doubt about that, people may mock her but she has done a lot more than most to make something of her life, espcially coming from such humble beginnings. The cancer occured because she failed to have regular smear tests. This has been publicised, and now people taking the tests are up 20%. Don't let your missus or daughter be one to miss out. I wonder if they caught it earlier this would have been eliminated or just delayed the inevitable
Homer
The 21 yr old lad next door to my parents had something very similar to this. Bowel cancer which progressed to his liver an kidneys, he spend the last 4 months of his life in immense pain and had a morphine pump on him for the last 3 months. My dad said it was horrible, he was in more pain every day and basically everyone just had to watch him slowly die Jade Goody may have her fame based on stupidity, but no one should have to go though that. Max Headroom
This happens to folk every day, Jade is "famous" so the papers can make money on the back of it. Was it not so long ago the media was shouting "burn the witch"!!!!!!!. It is extremely sad for her and her family, but does bring to the fore the preventative measures that can be taken. ivan
Good on her for trying to provide for her kids when she's gone. You still won't persuade me to watch her though.
Axle
Not something I would wish upon my worst enemy. If nothing else, at least it has raised more awareness around the subject. I can't help but feel more sorrow for the many millions of children, who are in poverty or struggling and wont be left x amount millions once their mother/father has left them. At least Jade can take SOME comfort in knowing her family/children have all the financial support they should ever need. One of the things that I find difficult to comprehend at times is for the all the incredible effort, discovery, energy and resources to send man up beyond our world… Yet we cannot find cures for so many diseases that take our loved ones away from us. No matter how much money you have, you can't buy your health.
Terminator
I had to watch the rapid deterioration of a colleague, who in January one year, was diagnosed with cancer, given two to four years to live. She wanted to continue working for half a year then spend her last years travelling. In March the same year, the prognosis got much worse and she was given six more months. She came to work on morphine from then to the end in mid May. The end was so fast she never had time to do anything. She came into work one Monday day in May, I could see she was in terrible pain more so, I had to send her home, I promised to go and visit her at home on the Friday. I never saw her again, she died on the Thursday. I have never been a fan of Big Brother nor the people it thrusts in to celebrity. I feel so sorry for Jade and her family. I hope people give her some respect and the press allow her some dignity in the end.
supramkivcork
The situation that has occurred is tragic no doubt, however it happens every single day in every corner of the country. It is very strange that a degree of fame is what makes people so sad about this case. I've recently heard of a 21 yr old girl who just beat leukemia and then contracted cancer only a couple of months later. She is now living out her remaining months in a respite home trying to retain some sort of dignity. I'm sorry for Jade's loved ones especially in this as they'll have to endure media exposure post death no doubt which most "normal" families don't have to. Guest Garfy
the sooner a cure/preventative is found for Cancer the better, terrible thing, I lost both of my Grandads to it.
far
If anything I think the good thing to come out of this is that it will raise awareness, my wife has been ignoring her test for a while until I told her last night
Ian C
And indeed, with all the talk of regular smear tests, don't forget to check 'down below' all you blokes. -Ian
Alex
I'd heard a slightly different story, that the doctors missed it in her smear test the first time but after she collapsed and had some bleeding from that area she had another one and that was looked at more carefully...she was then diagnosed. Having a smear test isn't, lets face it, going to fix anything, you have to be incredibly lucky as a lady to catch it early enough in that area as there are no external symptoms AFAIK until it's too late. Having a smear test at the right time is just blind luck unfortunately. Us blokes have much more chance with our version as we can check for physical changes. She's very unlucky to be struck down so young. IMO She has never deserved the press and money she has gotten but at least she's been reasonably sensible with it. If she'd had the riches and squandered them to the point her boys would have been left with nothing and no mother would have been worse. I wish her a comfortable, pain free end...
